A quick collage of some of this summer's projects. Now that I've worked my paws to the bone getting most of my commissions done, I'm open for a few more characters. A few December and January spots still available. I'm fairly sure it's too late to promise anything new for MFF , but a few suits can still be made ready for FC if folks snap the spots up soon. ^.^
And woo, EF soon! See you there. Bitte Eine Bittburger! *wags*

Yesh! 14 days till I fly out. Will be at my Oma's, then taking the train to Suhl on Wednesday. There's a really nice lil BB I would like to show you two. Gasthaus Oberst, (i believe was the name, it's been 2 years, if he's still there) Really good food, and he let us into his private barrel of apricot schnaps last time :>
I was given that art by my customer (from Germany) along with others of his character when building his suit. I just build what folks provide me art for, provided it's not a major trademarked character or corporate figure. But when all the individual artwork I receive has his name splashed over the model sheets, I assume it's he who has commissioned the art :D
In all truth though, if you know the artist in question and they've taken offense, could you have them contact me? While I am not ethically obligated to police every persons costume, nor why they're getting them, I do not condone plagiarism. That, is unethical, and something I've dealt with a lot over the years myself.
Hello, it has been brought to my attention that one of your fursuit commissions is of my personal character design (the bottom right image, the reference you show is an example of Jaime Sidor/Emryswolf/Blaqriot art and was gift art from that artist to me).
I do not in any way, shape or form wish my character to be made into a fursuit, plush, or anything else without my express permission. Especially if this suit is going to someone other than me, since, well, I'm the character creator.
Here is an example of my character design dating as far back as 2002 and feel free to visit my FA gallery here for more reference updates to this design:

The design they appear to be giving you as a reference, dated 2003: http://us-p.vclart.net/vcl/Artists/...../Reference.jpg
I am asking that you please cease and desist in creating this suit or work with the customer to make a suit not based on an already created character not owned by them. The thought that someone else would be walking around in a fursuit of my personal character (as geeky as it sounds but I'm sure many furries understand this design means a lot to me and is my "online representation") is very unnerving to me and makes me extremely upset that I would not be asked permission before it happened. BUT I also understand you may not have been aware that this is my character they were trying to commission a suit of, so I am setting it straight that yes--it is my personal character and no I do not want a fursuit made of it.
I am sorry if this causes problems for your business and I am more offended that the commissioner that hired you did not take into consideration that this is not a free design to do with as they wish and I am very sorry if you may lose this customer's business over this. It is not my intention to drive away your customers but I am adamant in my request that my design not be reproduced without my permission or turned into a fursuit.
Please let this customer know that he or she is using a stolen design and that the owner of the character does not want this to be made into a fursuit. I am very sorry, again, if you lose business but I am very upset that this has occurred and wish for it to not be created at all. If you have any more concerns, questions, or anything please Note me via this account. If they wish to have a suit similar to my character's design I would gladly sketch one up for them if that is their intention or I'm sure they can find any number of artists who can do so competently and without being a blatant rip-off of my character.

As I stated in my earlier reply, I was asking if you could email me directly so that I could put you in contact with that customer. It is not my responsibility to verify the authenticity of my customers source material. It is up to them not to plagiarize and prey upon the ideas of others. I will, however, gladly put you in touch with them as they already have had said costume made. You may then talk to them, and sort this out to your satisfaction.
That is what I would like, I saw in a previous comment that your customer may have had several designs but did not stat who they are and I made a public comment so as people would not confuse my personal character with what you are creating/they had provided. I do not expect you to track down every piece of art given to ensure it is each customer's own character or art--that's is a burden and it is up to the customer to not steal. If you could please let me know their contact I do wish to speak to them as I am very upset that this has happened (but not upset with you, you are simply doing business).
Drop me an email; sscharf@arendstudios.com, and I'll forward you what info I have here. It sucks, but nothing is sacred on the internet. I've had a lot of stuff 'borrowed from' in past, and become common place now. Imitation is flattery, otherwise you'd never be able to post anything anywhere for fear of someone using the ideas you put forth.
Thank you. Unfortunately it seems they had stolen gift art made for me by other artists to do this and I am greatly upset by it. Hopefully we can work this out in email because I am extremely displeased that somebody would go claiming my personal avatar as their own but to also have it made into a physical suit, I feel it is an affront to me and a violation.
Call it weird, but you make the coolest noses! Love the detail on your work, too! Saw the head you made for
