this is something that i have spent a lot of time the past couple years discovering about myself, i wanted to share it because it's really important to me and a big part of my identity! <3

Ace is a big umbrella. It includes aromantic people, but ace people aren't necessarily aromantic. They can have a variety of sexual attractions but not find traditional sex acts appealing, etc. And there are all kinds of romantic relationships, ace or not, that don't rely on traditionally sexin' it up.
asexuality, in it's broadest definition, means without sexual feelings! asexuals generally have no sexual attraction to others, and have no desire to engage in sexual activities.
that is the broad umbrella term, however, many different people identify as different kinds of aces. for example, some asexuals have no desire for sex, but still want to pursue romantic relationships. some asexuals do not want sexual OR romantic relationships; they would be asexual aromantics!
asexuals who do want to pursue romance may label themselves according to their attractions as well, to show they are interested only in romance, and not sex. for example, homoromantic, heteroromantic, biromantic, panromantic, etc.
there are also those who fit inbetween the spectrum of asexuality and sexuality; gray aces. gray aces may sometimes experience sexual attraction, but on a smaller scale.
i hope this helps clear some things up!
