I'm a HUGE fan of Natsume Yuujincho (I haven't seen the new season if you give any spoilers I will kill you and I promise to make it painful) and what I really really love is the designs of all the different types of yokai, especially the frequent use of MASKS 👺👹♥️♥️♥️ So I made some designs based off my OCs reimagined as yokai. Other inspirations include the tikbalang for the upper left one, historic Japanese traveling priest's clothing for the far right, and I guess anime cat girls and traditional cloud-based patterns for the center one

YEEEEE GOOD. That was the point of him :'D His mask is based off straw masks used for horses in ye olde Japan, which were just meant to keep flies off and stuff but also look really creepy. The anatomy however is based off the tikbalang, a creature from Tagalog (Philippines) folklore that has a horse's head and hooves and limbs so long that when it crouches the knees are over its head. Depending on who you ask they're guardians of forests and mountains, tricksters, or the spirits of aborted fetuses sent from limbo.
