BACKSTORY
Albion’s aggressive tendencies were aimed only at strengthening its place among the international arena. Social and economic policies of the leading party were strongly controversial: Albion exported too many resources and goods, which were avoiding the national market – people ended up with nothing. The nation was worried, you know, rough times, slow post-war recovery and poverty finally resulted in a country-wide strike.
Hunters belonged to the working class, and his father was among the strikers. He was working in the mechanic industry, as a simple factory worker who lost his patience and had enough of endless promises. He was front row at bursting strike. They demanded to raise the minimum wage at least by 3 per cent or to get free food stamps for worker’s families. Unfortunately, the strikers failed, the party refused their demands. Nobody wanted to destroy the fragile balance in the budget, Albion has just got everything together since the war. Stability can be lost very easily, it’s always taken for granted.
A month later the Hunters left Albion without selling their house, but they traded it to the bank, so they had a little money. It was enough for the relocation process, but not enough for a comfortable life they wanted to have in Grimburg. They rented an abandoned shoe factory old drafty attic. Work was scarce in those days; they quickly ran out of money and stamps. John had to grow up really fast; he was assisting his father at rather a steady job. John’s mother applied for a job too, luckily she got a part-time job as a tailor. Sadly soon James became sick with tuberculosis and passed away because of the lack of proper treatment and malnutrition. Valerie was now the head of the family and it was really hard for her persuading John to stay in middle school.
John fell in with the wrong crowd, thus he ended up in his first greaser gang.
Back then greasers were a quite popular thing, you know, punks. They viciously destroyed in a drunken rage other people’s houses, robbed petrol stations and stole goods on store shelves, and sometimes they got into quarrels with other gangs. Finally, they had enough guts to do the real heist. Their jewellery store robbery went disastrous; John and two of his pals got arrested. Well, it was a common thing for the gang, they’ve certainly had a knack for finding trouble, but they were lucky and always got away with it. He’d been in prison for two weeks until his mother bailed him out. She had to sell her jewellery; the last thing remained as a loving memory of her husband. Ashamed, John ran away and disappeared.
As turned out, Johnny caught the next train to Grimsburg and left his mother alone (she’s doing fine now, has a boyfriend and rented a decent flat, no worries).
Two years later of his misfortune adventures in the city, he finally came up with the idea of starting his own greaser gang. That’s how 'Pariah Grim' was born. John got carried away with car repair and the gang was drawn into repairing as well. He had sent his first paycheck to mother, yet still, the reason why she sold the jewellery has been nagging him for years.
Pariah Grim never was a peaceful gang. Besides car repairing, they caused trouble all around the city.
Up to now, Pariah Grim is the largest gang in the city. They racketeered an old industrial complex from a small criminal family’s control, rebuilt it as a base and a large garage. They’ve stopped terrorizing the city for a while, but somehow still causing troubles for Grimburg's citizens. However, cops avoid Pariah’s base after a fatal accident. Some of them are just happy to be safe and sound.
NATURE
Speaking of John’s nature … well… he’s a hot-tempered daredevil. He has always been in a bit of strife, he knows his way around, he’s self-confident –- anything that comes to your mind is suitable for him. In other words, his nature is no picnic.
As a leader of Pariah Grim John is reliable (well at least when there is no a big score around, then that’s every man for himself), calculating and ambitious, that kind of guy you can call "my lad". He isn’t afraid of pains and risks, failures only encourage him doing his best no matter what. He isn’t prone to rashes in gang’s business, yet he messes up with his love life.
The first impression he could possibly make is … well … it’s left much to be desired. He’s deliberately playing himself as a cold-blooded and violent asshole (that’s his way to keep a less-desirable and useless people away), who enjoys boasting and showing off with his gang status. John isn’t watching his language while he's talking, so some inappropriate and rude things are common for him. Sometimes he loses his head and trash talks the gang members, but they are perfectly aware with his violent outbursts brought on by seemingly minor things. Hunter admits that he has troubles with rage control; he admits that he’s kind of stuck in his ways, but he refuses to visit a psychologist. His motto is, well, a great offence is a great defence. Dispelling all your doubts, John is not proud of himself. He despises that kind of immaturity.
It would be a milkshake without milk if we forget to mention how rude and edgy John is. He perfectly knows how to bite and where to sting to make it hurt more. He’s sharp as a tack and eager to fight if anything has happened. You know, it’s better for people to avoid talking with him; he usually doesn’t talk rubbish or humiliates a stranger, in whom he wasn't interested. But if you gather enough courage and not afraid (or doesn’t mind him) of him being himself, be careful. He has no shame or tact. John doesn’t care about what anyone says or think of him –- his life priorities are different. However, it’s hard to deny that he has charms. Indeed, he’s far beyond a Speaker, but he would never lie or cheat on you.
Summing up, John is a good guy, but his negative traits prevail. The reason is that he is afraid of being seen as a weak and soft-hearted person.

Woah, thanks for your feedback!
First of all, we are not native speakers, so yeah, you might find some mistakes or lapses here. However I tried my best x) I would be very grateful if you send me a note with the corrections, it's never too late to learn!
Secondly, I pointed out in the description that he is part of our setting (or project, whatever), here, "NOTES: Albion = The UK, New World = The USA / yep, we changed countries’ names according to Grimburg’s idea of the alternate history, anyway don’t take all the info written here too serious, it’s a fiction." No wonder that you’ve never heard about "New world dream", ’cause it is a fictional thing. They have pets in their universe, he’s not the one with the power, there are other gangs, criminal families and etc., but as I said in the description "DISCLAIMER: John inhabits the same setting (Grimburg) as Ruth and Jeff do. More info about the setting coming soon, we need to finish illustrations first."
Also what’s wrong with "the weird choices", are you that boring in real life? It’s still our project, not yours. You could do your street gang as dangerous and predictable as you want X)
