I read in another image that you're out due to a bad injury. Be sure as hell you get your service connection disability paperwork squared away. It's a nice check in the mail for life, plus free access to VA hospitals and such. If your rating is over %30 (which I'm sure it is, look into Vocational Rehabilitation (Chapter 31) is you're looking to go to college. They pay up to $25,000 a year (may have gone up) along with a monthly $580 living expense stipend. Also, if you need a job, you have priority placement working for the govmint. The 6 years you already did counts toward federal retirement and the pay is *excellent*.
Some of this you may already know about. Thanks for your service.

Thanks for your appreciation. I've actually been out for a couple years now.
I wish I had gotten 30% though with that I wouldn't have been given a separation, I would have been given the check and honestly as much as I would appreciate a monthly check, at the time I was willing to accept $26,000 for separation on the fact that without the monthly paycheck I wouldn't be able to pay off my credit card and truck loan.

You can have your cake and eat it too. Get a copy of your medical records and file for an disability claim analysis. Some guy will comb through your medical records and send a rating to you. Honestly, I think you have a strong case. After the 10 year mark after you leave the military, you're locked out from filing a claim.
Contact the VA and ask how to go about doing this.

I mean, I got 10% from the Army when I separated.
I'll be filing a claim with the VA when I get back to the states.
The VA rep here in Japan sucks because he's never around, and when he is supposed to be on base I go to see him and it's always "Oh, he just left."
......But it's 10 in the morning...
