I find it funny that I never thought to share this on here. I only ever uploaded pictures to Deviantart
When i was a sophomore in high school. I was asked or offered a chance to paint some ocean life on our local town pool. I painted a lot at the time and killer whales are my favorite animal so of course I would love to try making a mural.
So the next summer before school started which would now be my junior year. I started working on the mural. I started it in 2009 I believe. and worked on the mural after school. The pool was just a short walk from my high school. Till the weather got to cold. I then continued painting it the following spring and ended up finishing it before the pool opened in June of 2010.
I did this for free btw. I didn't have to by the paint though. The pool owners bought the paint i wanted to use. I did though receive a free lifeguard training course. Since I was on the swimming team at the time.
I did really enjoy making the mural. The only sad part is several years later I think it was 2014 or something. The owners of the pool decided to try and build a larger outdoor pool in the old ones place. With the help of the City of Hartford They raised the 2 million $$ to build the pool. So the old one was torn down.
