This story is so awesome, give it a read! Let him know how awesome it is :3
The passed few days had been horrible, thought Yoshils to himself as he stood high on a skyscrapper, watching the bustling streets and its inhabitant came and go like always, active and perpetually in motion . Gang wars had been erupting in the city left and right without real cause as banks where robbed, armories and military facilities were pillaged and ransacked. The hero stood vigil over his city for a long time but never did a crime spree occured like that, words in the streets were that an underworld leader had fell and that a new player came in to reap what this man had sown or that some old feud had sparked animosity between the gangs and old families , while the streets were safe during the day, the night was the moment people stayed home and locked themselves away in fear of being caught in the crossfire.
Yoshil gazed over the crowds, his cape following the winds as he stood like a monument on the alcoves of this tower of concrete. Lost in thoughts, he pondered about the whole situation. Generally criminals would keep to themselves since he was on patrol and the city was relatively peaceful aside the few villains that rose, but now ? Shoot outs in the dead of the night, territory wars, heists over heist as the criminal syndicates seemed locked in conflict, hellbent on taking out their competition and former associates. He heard words of this new gang rise to power too, the Crimson Hounds , he think they were called, apparently they came out of nowhere and started to hijack all they could, annexing some minor gangs, raiding supplies and stealing weapons, money seemed to be of little import to them as they seems to go for the hardware he remarked, having little to do with the usual drugs or world domination scheme villains came up with usually, instead they had been gathering armament, experimental and otherwise while also providing other gangs and clans with new gear that would make engineers blush and wet themselves.
Folding his arms , his finger digged agaisnt his suit nervously while his mind turned and analyzed what he knew. An Informant had come up recently with words of an heist that the Crimson Hounds would perpetrate today at the royal bank, he wasnt sure about what they were after but he would stop them and lock them up, making sure they dont cause trouble and perhaps restore some stability to the city while at it. His eyes gazed over the massive clockwork that ticked upon the next tower.
''Almost time...'' he thought as his sight wandered upon the crowd, seeking any move or sign that would betray a Crimson Hound intent. And if not perhaps his presence would deter them from their plan , he sighed.
Dusk gently settled in as the sun died on the shores, the imposing yoshi-fox stood vigil still over the royal bank like a statue greeting the few whom would raise their head to the sky as they ascended the stairs, his ears standing at attention for the slightess disruption that he would perceive, things had been mostly calm if not monotonous by now. He couldnt help himself but yawn at the lack of excitement as he blinked a bit. Perhaps he should call it off for tonight, nothing seemed to be happening and the hounds where late by a good hour now.
Slowly flying off he turned to look at the bank door, stopping in his tracks almost immediatly as he saw some armed men near the entrance withing the bank, he looked closer , agape to realise the doors where not only shut but a barricade had been erected within the walls behind the two rows of pivotal doors. He didnt knew how but they were already inside, no alarm where raised, no gunshot fired and the police didnt got warned at all. Yet here they were.
Not thinking twice, he flew to the door, smashing right throught it as he saw those mans, dressed all differently as they wore assault rifles and flak jackets over them, the only things they had in common was the wolf skull with crooked horns they had tatooed in different area, some on their forearms, some on their shoulder and one on his forehead. He rose his back slowly as those guns cocked in his direction as the criminals watched each other nervously, their weapons at the ready.
''On the floor !!!'' screamed one of them, his goggles hummings as he took a step foward the hero, laser and barrel pointing straight on his heart as the man slowly stoop closer to the tall yoshi-fox.
Yoshil smirked wide as he floated middair, those peashooter wouldnt even lend a scratch on him as he exclamed. '' Surrender now , evildoers ! Or I shall...''
Before even finishing his sentence a thunderous clamour of gunfire greeted his warning, the 10 man before him showering the hero in a hail of lead as the hostages behind them started to scream for their lives, cowering agaisnt the wall as the yoshi-fox couldnt help himself but to raise his arms in protection from the sudden welcoming commitee.
The chorus of firearms lasted a few minute as the tingling of metal case rained on the marble floor. Lowering his arms. Yoshil growled '' Alright, my turn now...''
In the blink of an eye the hero rushed towards the armed bandits, despite raising their weapons and firing anew, Yoshils was already upon them, his fists greeting them unceremoniously as one flew into the wall while another was kicked into the ground. One of the hound rushed toward him, hitting him square between the eyes with the gun stock as a silence fell into the room, the yoshi-fox, immovable, grabbed the weapon and bent it at the middle, tossing it on the side as the metal scrap bounced on the marble with a clang, the hound gulped audibly before a straight sank into his visage, a loud scream escaping his lungs as his trajectory led him over a counter.
Happy of his quick work of these ruffians, Yoshil stood amidst bullet shells, broken guns and unconscious gang members, his gaze turning to greet one hound that wasnt completely out of commission, fingers pressed to his ear piece as if calling backups, taking steps toward the man, the hero imposing frame loomed over the criminal, the shadow alike a judge standing before a convict as he stood there for a second, watching the bruised and beaten man reaction. For but a moment there was a stillness in the air, as if they stood in the eye of an hurricane but Yoshil knew that the storm was far from over. His ears peaked for a second as an heavy footstep echoed in the hall, turning his gaze to his left, a 7 feet tall man stomped his way down, nonchallently. With a pair of heavy military boots and black cargo pants, this tank of a man held a frighteningly massive hammer on his broad shoulders, his torso only wearing what seemed to be a harness with a collar around his thick neck, the hounds tatoo upon his left shoulder was proudly exposed as a red mohawk crowned his shaven head, his stern eyes gazing at him and the downed hound before reaching the main floor. Silently he grabbed the hound by the scruff before tossing him into the staircase. ''Get out of here pup.. this git's bad news''.
Flinging that heaving maul into his hands, the giant stood in the hero's way, barring the way he smirked.
''You hero type's all the same, no manners, comin an' bargin' into others buisness. All rightous and shit...Well not today Whatsyourface cuz good ol Krom will show you the door.''
Spitting on his right and taking an aggressive posture, Krom nostrils flaired like a bull ready for the corrida before charging towards him. Unmoved, Yoshil watched his opponent rushing toward him like a juggernaut, while massive he was slow and clumsy ,the hero observed, before slidding toward him as he raised his leg for a kick, the heel sinking straight into the giant stomach, a loud groan escaping his mouth as he stooped backward a bit, huffing for air and gritting his teeth as Yoshil stood up anew.
Krom smirked widely '' A toughy eh ?''. In one fluid move the pummel of the oversized hammer sank into Yoshil brow before the hound turned on himself, swinging that huge mass towards the hero's skull. Unfazed, the yoshi-fox grabbed the hammer handle with both hands during the momentum, a grin formed on his lips as he tossed the maul up in the air before his closed fist punched Krom's stomach anew , the impact itself making a small sonic boom from the sheer strength behind the blow. Coughing and grunting, he raised both fist in response as he threw in a few punches, while Krom was indeed slow he was stronger and much more resilient then most people Yoshil had fought by the past, the few blow that landed had enough impact to break the bones anyone but the hero's body was more tempered the strongest of steel, deflecting and blocking blow after blow, Yoshil landed another jab into Krom's stomach. Caught out of breath and out of stamina from tangling with stronger then him, Krom slumped into the ground, breathing heavily as his torso was bruised and battered from the punishement. But still in defeat , Krom grinned wide, giving a quick look around him as Yoshil did the same, seven hounds had fled the scene to whom knows where during the altercation as the hero frowned and turned his attention back to the downed giant.
Kicking him down and grasping at his mohawk, Yoshil pulled his head close to his face, angers in his eyes and voice.
'' Who are you working for ? What's his name ?!''
Groaning and panting , the hound spat a mixture of blood and saliva, marking the yellow cheeks with a streak of red as he coughed up.
''Aint a snitch pal...Ya aint gonna hear a thing from me..''
Growling with anger, Yoshil punched the man's visage, knocking him out cold as the giant head's fell heavily unto the marble floor with a loud thud that echoed amidst the walls, reverbrating gently with the sounds of multiple footsteps coming from the depths of the complex, closing his eyes for a brief moment and listening closely to the sound, Yoshil heard five men coming his way, If Krom didnt want to speak, they would...
It had been a perfect plan thus far, a get in and get out gig that took some preperation but mostly a simple job when one would think about it, using the old sewage system as a gateway in the bank wasnt the greatest of ideas but these idiots would be too comfortable with their security system that they wouldnt think twice about an unchecked power room where the janitor would keep his stuff, the rabbit thought to himself. The problem with feeling safe is that it makes you negligent to details, small little things , too insignificants , to mean anything but Mathieu knew better. Like anyone whom knows what the Chaos Theory entails. it's those little things that devolves into much greater events. All it took was one blindspot to get the Crimson Hounds in and from there, neutralize the security in place, wasnt too hard when the security room is barely a minute from there, so deep in the complex that no one would dare imagine someone could get there without passing through the front desk or tripping an alarm via the exit doors. Valois made a good and quick job of it too, knocking out those guards who had very little training then taking control of the alarm, the door locks, etc. Before long this place was locked down nice and quiet and all that was left was making sure those whom remained wouldnt contact the outside world, afterwhat, take the stuff, go home and blow up the entry point and all would be a walk in the park from there.
But of course, that was all before Crowley called, saying things were going down in the main hall...
''Okay guys , we're moving out ! We got what we came for so lets ditch this place !'' The rabbit gestured to his henchmen as he picked his new toy, peculiar thing with the Royal Bank is that they sure dabble in a lot of dangerous stuff aside money he thought to himself before heading out of the vault. His crew had always been there for as long as he remembered and if there was something that the Crimson Hounds abided by was strenght in pack, whoever decided they could drop in uninvited was about to have a nasty surprise for messing with his gang.
Stepping into the hallway, the raptor Tu'shan, led the group foward toward the main hall, his rifle at the ready as the rest of the group followed suit, they didnt knew with who they were dealing with after all, the cops, the enforcers, some super heroes ? Better have the ex arena champion lead the way if it was something nasty. Mathieu accelerated the pace as Valois and Shade followed him close behind, their step resonating agaisnt the walls as the hacker had their payload hanging around her waist, closely guarded in case another gang heard of the job.
Reaching the main entrance, the rabbit could spot Krom's form on the floor alongside a few other members, the giant was passed out on the floor amidst the bullet shells that were still visibly warm, raising their weapon, the team scanned the room for the sign of any hostiles that would hide behind door, counters and stairs.
''Tu'shan, get Krom out of here. Eric get out of here and take the package''
The bunny gestured to the raptor then the fox as Valois tossed to suitcase to Eric whom scampered immediatly away with it while Tu'shan leaned down and grabbed Krom, lifting him up before dragging him away towards the escape point.
''Valois, Shade. You stick with me for now...'' Mathieu said calmly as he signaled the assassin and the hacker to stay close.
Whoever did this mess was close, he could feel it, his animus telling him something was off in this room, someone or something was watching them closely. He rose his gun, his blue eyes searching the room before suddenly, a green, yellow and grey bolt smashed straight unto Tu'shan and Krom making two bird one stone and knocking the raptor out immediatly. Valois and Shade raised their weapons in unison as the cocking of their gun ringed a threat towards the caped stranger. Raising an arm, Mathieu kept them from pulling their triggers.
''You're the one behind all of this ?'' Said the cloacked hero as he turned around to face him, a green mask barely hiding any facial traits the golden rabbit thought to himself, with a nose and a racial demarcation like that, keeping anonymity with a simple mask was entirely pointless.
''And who ask ?'' Said Mathieu with a defiant smirk as he slowly walk inbetween his two bodyguards.
''Super Yoshils !'' the hero beamed proudly as the rabbit couldnt help but to arc an eyebrow'' And now tell me your identity, villain !''
The rabbit sneered a bit, whatever this guy was, he took down most of his team and that wasnt something he could brush off easily.
''Mister M. for you'' the bunny retorked as he rose his weapon to his shoulder '' Leader of the Crimson hounds...and not pleased to make your aquaintance. '' he said with a dismissal glare as his men lowered their weapons, Valois letting out a giggle as she walked toward the raptor and Krom alongside Shade whom remained silent as ever.
Yoshil smile turned quickly sour from the Crimson hounds not taking him more seriously as he readied himself for battle while the two lieutenants walked toward him, rushing toward them in one fluid motion, his fist raised to pummel those two as he quickly closed in. However his charge was interrupted by a gunshot followed by a sharp painful sensation agaisnt his cheek and into his ear. Smoke emanated from Mathieu's barrel as his eyes were ablaze from that tentative agaisnt his men.
''You'll leave them out of this , you overgrown lizard.'' the rabbit said as he kept his weapon pointed at the hero, visibly shocked. It was true what they said about that thing, strong enough to give those immortals a what for and thus bullets were specially crafted for such an occasion. Not waiting for the hero to come back to his sense, Valois took off to the insertion point while Shade grasped both unconscious man and dragged them out the same way.
''What's the problem, big guy ? Never been hurt before ?'' the bunny smirked as he taunted the yoshi-fox, he knew his kind, prideful to a fault and if anything he would save his men some precious time by keeping his focus. A low growl rumbled from the hero, his eyes brimming with anger and scorn as his fist closed and the ground quaked and shattered around him before giving him a murderous gaze.
A moment of silence rose between them two, tension could be felt in the very air of this hall, a stillness akin to the eye of an hurricane, the calm before the storm as they called it, Mat thought.
And in the blink of an eye, the hero rushed onward, dust filled the room from the sudden shift of air as the rabbit rose his weapon, the flash of the muzzle illiminating the micro storm before the first blow landed. A rumble emanated from both side as fist met fist for the first time, weapon soon sheathed back to its holster as a brief window show knuckle on knuckle. Soon the second blow came like a freight train and was greeted with just as much impact, the rabbit slidding backward and panting as the effort to go toe to toe with the Yoshi-fox was more demanding then what he was used to.
Soon another charge as the dust cleared around the bullet that was the hero, the fist sunk deep into the rabbit stomach, cutting his breath for a moment as another punch was about to land. Not losing a beat, the rabbit dodged the incoming blow as he bent downward , spinning on himself his leg sweep landed straight unto the hero's ankle, making him lose balance for a brief second as the assault resumed itself. Mat jumped overhead before Yoshil grabbed him by the leg, sending him flying across the hall before the bandit turned on himself, both feet landing upon the wall before propulsing his whole body like an arrow with the momentum. Yoshil perceived a blue jolt upon the rabbits right before it percuted his chest with such force that it sent him back to the wall.
The scene was like shaking a snowglobe with two entities virvolting amidst its winds, kicks and punches were traded with such ferocity that the whole building quaked at each blow, glass cracking at each vibration sent through the impacts. Despite all this, Mathieu had resigned to tap his animus to stay in the fight, while he was definitly much faster then the super hero, Yoshils was definitly faster and more resilient then him and while the fight only grew in intensity, the brigand was tiring from this dance. A few minutes had passed and his crew were most likely far from the scene by now. The dust having cleared, the bunny panted as he headed towards the door, Yoshils standing in his path anew.
''Where do you think you're going ?'' said the hero as he stomped foward and smirk, realising that the rabbit was getting exhausted.
''Home , you ?'' said the rabbit casually as he was still huffing for air, walking nonchallantly toward the hero.
''Oh you're not going home smart guy, you're coming with me.'' Said Yoshils as he drew closer to the bandit.
However the rabbit smiled despite being visibly at a disadvantage, the hero remarked to himself.
Only a meter separated them before the hero accelerated the pace, but it was too late already. In an instant, the rabbit unholstered his weapon quicker then the hero could react, the muzzled flashed brightly as a searing pain needled its way through the Yoshi-fox right quad, stunned, Yoshil blinked and raised his head as the cannon loomed toward his left shoulder and detonated in a loud bang, pain surged into the muscle as he was forced to the ground from the point blank shot. Never did he felt something so excrutiating and burning as he grasped at the bullet hole in his shoulder with his right hand. He bit his lower lip, groaning as the burning sensation flared only stronger from the mere motion, he eye upward in pain as the bandit loomed above him, cannon pressed at his forehead as sweat pearled on his temple.
''Bang.'' said the criminal with neutral tone before lifting the gun away from his visage and resting it on his shoulder. With a deft movement he produced a phone out of his pocket and rang a number.
''1546, King street , Royal bank, got a shooting and a wounded.'' he said before tossing the phone on Yoshils side and stomping on it.
Incredulous the hero stared at the rabbit that simply walked away deeper into the complex.
''Seeya around, big guy. '' he said as he gradually vanished out of sight. Soon the sirens rangs their blaring song as the firemans axed the door and made way in to administer the hero's first aid. For once in a long time, Yoshils had been wounded...
Later this night, Yoshils was sitting near a window, bandaged leg and shoulder showing through his garb, while those wounds hurted like a hell they were superficial in nature, the bullets having passed right through and leaving little damage behind. He looked out the streets as the night was calm and still for once. At the same time, elsewhere in the undercity, festivities where going as the Crimson Hounds were celebrating their heist and having put out of commission a super hero in the process, the deed would travel soon to the other gangs and only increase their reputation while the money and blueprints they stole would prove instrumental to their buisness. But the rabbit wasnt amidst the crowd of celebrating gang members, while Krom and Tu'shan were presiding over the festivities, Mathieu was out there, in the streets pondering. While the rabbit had no quell about fighting idiots and other criminals, he wasnt keen on tangling with peacekeeper, after all, this Yoshils was doing his job to protect the citizens and he was quite good at it despite attacking his crew. Although he knew both the hero and its gang wouldnt see it that way, he smiled at the prospect of meeting the guy again and hopefully he would also keep the city safer despite the shenanigans the hounds would soon cause.
The Yoshi-Fox watched the tranquil streets from his appartement, his mind replaying the event in his head, he could have pulled the trigger, make it final, but the man didnt. Instead he called the 911 to make sure he would live despite him beating his crew and wounding his man. While he wouldnt be in the streets for a few weeks, the hero came to the realization that his apparent invulnerability had made him soft a bit, for a long time he didnt take criminals seriously as their weapons wouldnt harm him and as their antics barely offered him any chalenges, even super villains didnt pose much a threat lately. But now he had been put in a vulnerable position, that guy could stand his own agaisnt him and not only that, he had a weapon that simply ignored his invulnerability. He huffed and held his shoulder as he gazed upon his reflection in contemplation. A lot of people he knew would call it quit and stopped, but not him, people needed him, the city needed it's heroes to remain safe and if this guy showned him anything is that the city was seeing a new bred of criminal, stronger, organized and with the gear to up their game.
''I'll train more... I'll get stronger and next time I wont fall."
