It doesn't suck. I actually really like this piece. The trees are beautifully done, I love the brushstrokes. The grass is nice, and I really like how the lighting plays through the whole piece. As well as the warm to cool colors in the background.

Hmm... perhaps the grass may be part of the issue. It looks as though wind is blowing through the piece yet the grass is mostly straight up. I feel like what you're sensing as a lack of movement might simply be the grass wanting to dance with the wind.

Grass is certainly a challenge. But one worth taking on. I personally would advise against the addition of a stream, it seems to me like the piece would become cluttered. Overall the composition as it is is lovely.

You're right grass isn't a challenge, maybe if I try different directions?
