Chloe just learned the hard way that if you live in the Flannelverse, and the majority of what you eat is dug out of the garbage, it's only a matter of time before you end up eating something mutagenic. And if the garbage can you ate out of is on a beach and therefore the mutagenic material you're eating likely came from a beachside vendor, then there's pretty much no avoiding it, you're gonna end up as a mermaid sooner or later. Given this, despite being the one who wrote her dialogue, it perplexes even me that Chloe turning into a mermaid is really so hard for Green to believe...

If the image on Chloe's phone is to be beleived, Green is actually having the audacity to dismiss a friend of her's transforming unwillingly as she's blowing up into a blueberry. AGAIN.
I wonder if that's just a regular part of her work routine now, and she's gotten so jaded to it that she has a hard time believing anything else...
