I made a little collage to show people a little overview of the casting process!
First picture are the silicone molds inside their plaster mothermolds. The mothermolds make sure that the flexible silicone is held in the right shape while casting, other wise you can end up with droopy/lopsided casts. They are in buckets/boxes just to keep them standing upright.
Second picture is after casting and an hour of curing. The bases are ready to be pulled from the mold. I have taken the mother molds off(two halves held by rubberbands).
Last picture are the final pulls! The muffin tops on the backsides are cut off them the bases can be prepped for use by cutting out the eyes and mouth and carving away the foam on the inside so it fits nicely against the face!
