Back in the 90's we had some marigolds growing outside. A big yellow and black garden spider made a web among them.
One day, I witnessed two large bees on the flowers near the spider. The two bees met upon the same flower, the the chagrin of both.
I kid you not, the two began a stand-off, hovering just above the coveted flower. One of the bees moved toward the other, 'pushing' it into the spider web.
It was a real murder.
