So for the last 4 months I've been trying to make something that I've never even attempted before.
I'm making a fursuit head! :D
---
I have SO MUCH ADMIRATION for the people that can make fursuits. I understand that they aren't for everyone, and that's perfectly fine. But I am absolutely fascinated by hand-craft and fursuits require soooooooooo much attention to detail to be both functional and visually appealing.
4 months of work. And this is what I've got.
My first ever try at making something like this.
And I've got mixed feelings about it.
I try really hard not to compare my work to others because it tends to drag me down and make me feel like crap... But I can't help but do it here... The people that make fursuits for a living (and even some first timers) are so much better than me. Their lines are gorgeous and their creations always look so epic and awesome.
But mine is kinda.. eh..
I like how it looks so far, but it does sit weird on my head and I'm still trying to figure out how to fix that, as well as fiddle with the jaw a bit so it moves properly when I talk. But I am so inexperienced with making something of this caliber that I have no clue how to improve. I've watched close to 200 hours of tutorials on how to make fursuits to try and improve my skills, and it has helped to some extent, but I feel I'm still just barely dipping my toes in the water. I have soooooooooo much to learn but I really want to learn how to do this.
As I said before, I am fascinated by fursuits because of all the shear effort and creativity involved in making them. Hundreds of hours go into making a full suit, most of which goes into the head alone! Some friends of mine know, but I will be going to the "Biggest Little Furcon" (BLFC) in May. I have wanted to go to a furcon for a couple years now, but I felt like I couldn't because I'm not much of a furry. I love the creativity of art in general, and for me, this is like going to a convention filled to the brim with unique art.
But enough of my rambling.
I'll be posting updates on this head as I work on it in between commissions, and hopefully I'll have it done before May. But we all know how that goes. ^^;

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my work! I really appreciate it!
