Can I do a spooky quick paint in 15 minutes?
With prompt in title, generated by fic that is still under work, what I managed to paint.
"...My ears perked as I heard some noise down the corridor. Clanking and clapping sounds echoed through the abandoned mine. Hastily I dispelled my light and curled behind a large outcropping of rock, blinking at sudden darkness. Eerie glow of cave moss outlined the narrow gallery. I spotted some dark figure moved along it, passing through intermittent shadows. Something purple, something pink could be seen in the dim light whenever figure crossed branching corridors.
Indubitably figure was pony shaped. It moved jerkily, robotically putting a hoof in front of the other. Her or his mane was hanging mess of hair, head drooped forward so I couldn't discern any hint of face behind hanging bangs.
I squinted and leaned forward to get a better view, in spite of cold vice of primal fear clamped around my stomach as miner's tale rose alive in my mind. Something familiar I could not put hoof on was about the shape of that pony and my rational mind was adamant in dismissing possibility of ghost encounter. This must be...
Jarring pain shot from my horn, its tip scraped on the sharp edge of rock I bumped into. I reeled and leaned back into shadow, wincing in pain. I think, I gasped or caused some noise, because figure stopped, its head rose in alert. I froze in shock, staring at unmoved figure. To my horror the limp mane puffed up, twisting itself into shape I though I'll never see again.
Two brilliant blue light lit on that face, like spot lights pointing in my direction, searching for me when head slowly turned. "Hello? Anyone is there?" A raspy tinny voice of filly ringed through the air and the spook took tentative step toward me.
"Hello? Did you came to play?" It asked, still failing to pinpoint my location as I hastily ducked behind the rock. Covering, I suppressed urge to bark a `Nope!` in response.
It cannot be! She is no more, I saw her two hundred years ago in Manehatten not long before she died! Lightbringer's... My brain tried to process the situation, clutching on last straw of reason it has found. That voice...sounded unnatural, but not as ghoulish as one could expect from a ghost.
I readied Disintegration Bolt, scooped myself from floor and stood up, my horn surrounded by aquamarine glow. "I mean no harm. Who are you?" I replied and peered over the rock when no immediate answer followed..."
