The second of three mobile suit prototypes built under the Earth Federation's "Project V" during the One Year War, the RX-77 Guncannon was a step above the RX-75 Guntank in that it was a true mobile suit and not just a "mobile suit body on a tank." Like its brethren Guntank and RX-78-2 Gundam, the Guncannon used the same FF-X7 Core Fighter as an escape system for the pilot. Also like the Gundam, the Guncannon was one of the first mobile suits to use the energy cap-based beam rifle, as well as head-mounted vulcan guns for close range defense.
However, the Guncannon was designed as a mid-range fire support unit, and its primary armament was its shoulder-mounted 240 mm cannons. The main drawback to this was the cannons' limited ammunition supply, but an experienced pilot learned to use the ammo conservatively and effectively to stay in battle longer.

Frickin' Cartoon Network took MSG off the air before it finished its run.
Well, true, but the model kits and the video games aren't canon. According to Sunrise's policy, something has to be animated for it to be canon. Thus, stuff like 00V and most of the Astray stories and all of the video games aren't canon. But now we're splitting hairs, so I'll stop.

I did find a Torrent of the complete Series (in english) a while ago. You could try looking at that. I'll have a quick look later tonight and see if I can find the episode and take a screenshot of it
But what about Manga? There are some kits that are based off of a Manga

Nope. Nothing. Animation is the ONLY canon in Sunrise's eyes. It's kind of weird. I mean, Star Wars has A, B, and C, canon, then the quasi-canon Expanded universe, and then purely non-canon works like the Infinities stories or the dark side endings of the KotOR series. But with Gundam, there's basically canon and non-canon, with canon being anything that showed up in animation and non-canon being everything else. Or at least that's how I understand it. Mark Simmons would be able to explain it better, but he doesn't hang out around here.
In Tomino's Novelization of MSG, Amuro at one point admits that he prefers the Guncannon over his Gundam, and thinks it is a better all around mobile suit. I'm kind of inclined to agree. I love the simple and effective eye glow you did here. Looking at the hands and feet on this thing, it's no wonder they give it G-Gundam-esque kung-fu melee powers in most every game.
