I realized today when I was going back over old pictures, that I have never drawn a straight-up picture of Boas by himself. I also wanted to take the opportunity to tell a little about him as well:
Boas was born to normal parentage of a normal line of "pure-bred" African pygmy mice. His family tree is the oldest colony of pygmy mice in Africa, and they take great pride in that fact. His family is known for their good manners and friendly, welcoming nature, and they are respected almost like an embassy. But, as sometimes happens, there is a "bad egg" in the family, and Boas just happens to be that egg. As a yearling, he was very rebellious-always causing mayhem and mischief among the colony and stirring up gossip. He made a habit of wandering into the nearby village and stealing the "Big People's" crops and committing other many numerous "crimes". He even spread false rumors about neighboring families and more often than not, he was caught in doing so. Boas' family was naturally very embarrassed by his outlandish behavior, which never ceased until his teen years and even then some of his bad habits still lingered, and he was banned from the colony until he could prove that he was worthy enough to come back. (I mean, he was ruining his family's reputation!) Since then, Boas has been living off of the Big People, who haven't even noticed the little ball of fur scurrying in and out of the wooden gates ten mintues to dawn. Boas vowed never to go back to his family colony where he knew he would be treated like scum and have to repent for all his wrong-doings, so he acts as a nomad, moving from hole to den every few weeks or so but always close enough to the village-sometimes even right outside it, where he most recently resides in a sloping hole in the grass and dirt.
This is where Jezebelle enters Boas' life.
While returning from a short trip to the radish garden (his favorite food), Boas was come upon by a lush green lioness by the name of Jezebelle O'Hara. The two creatures instantly clicked, and they have been a strong dynamic duo ever since. (You almost never see one without the other.)Jezebelle offered Boas residence with her in her cave which is just inside the wood next to the village. Boas gladly accepted, and these two are forever partners, going everywhere and doing everything together, however strange they might be.
Although he doesn't look and most of the time doesn't act it, Boas is very tricky and conniving. He has since grown out of his childhood nightmare, but a few of his old characteristics have always stuck with him, even though now he is very kind and respectable. He still has the occasional gossip fit and will go around screaming wildly about how the new neighbors are vampires...o.O
His name also means "swift" in Hebrew.
So I went into sketcher and doodled this up real quick, or as quick as I could without being kicked out a million times. XD ::hits sketcher:: Ah well. I really like how this turned out. But don't get used to seeing him without Jezebelle, she'll be along soon. ;)
