So once upon a time, I had probably 10 armies for Warhammer Fantasy Battle. Over the years, I had to sell most of them to pay bills (and to buy more wargaming crap). The Old Goat is one of the few Beastman minis I had left over from an ill-fated attempt at an all-beastman army during 4th or 5th edition.
Fast-forward to now. I currently have 3 armies for Warhammer 40K, but none for fantasy/Age of Sigmar. Turns out there are a couple of people at the local gaming store that play, and I miss playing fantasy. Anyway,
Tygon gave me a box of Tzaangor for my birthday last year. I've been trying to scrape up the money for a Tzaangor Shaman and some Enlightened for some time now, but other things (Grots, my Ratachans, Chaos Marines, Lego...) keep getting in the way.
A few weeks ago, it occurred to me that if my opponents were allowed to proxy Celestine using random jump-pack equipped models (like an Ork Stormboy in one game), then I could certainly proxy a Tzaangor Shaman using the Old Goat! At least he's a beastman and chaos-oriented, right?
But he needed a disc of Tzeentch to be a proper Tzaangor Shaman. So I took a base, some milliput, leftover swords from making the Tzaangor, a chaos star that originally went on a Defiler, some old shields, brass rod, styrene, and so forth, and made THIS. I think the disc is a little oversized, but it LOOKS like a disc of Tzeentch, right? The base is supposed to look like broken flagstone or tile, and the cylindrical thing is supposed to be a fallen pillar (it'll look better when I paint it to look like stone). I'll add some flocking between the 'stones' as moss, and maybe some longer flocking as dried grass as well. Oh, and yes, the Old Goat comes OFF of that disc - he's just pinned on with a piece of bronze wire - and YES, he needs to be repainted.
Basic backstory - somehow he survived the fall of the Old World, and Tzeentch made a promise when he pledged service to him. The Old Goat will live to be 99. By his 33rd year he will have children. By his 66th year, grandchildren (or more), all blessed by Tzeentch himself. He will gain immense magical power (which he has), and lead his tribe to a new age of... well... he never specified what, he just said a new age...
