A tall, dark horse said goodbye to the rest of the production crew for a charity concert. Despite the toll it took on his mind and body, he still felt it was good, noble work.
The Causeway connecting Malaysia and Singapore was destroyed in a series of giant explosions. The country also found itself under a lockdown enforced by other Southeast Asian nations, with rumours that a severe viral plague has been unleashed upon the island.
Hollud Gan received this news on an iPhone delivered to him the week before from someone he knew living in Malaysia. He watched nervous passengers on the LRT system chatter and calm each other down. A few hours after the Causeway's destruction, he received a call, but a mysterious program "infernal_geometry.ipa" activated itself on the phone before he could answer. A text message from his Malaysian acquaintance forced itself onto the screen.
