Arcanist uses magic as-is, they're mages focusing almost entirely on Arcane spells,
Telethia came up with the term "Magesmith" herself, and self-styled herself to be the "Grand Magesmith" to step out of her sister's shadow.
A Magesmith, as the name may suggest, is a mage that knows smithing, and combines the two arts in order to create devices that can be used to alter the way magic is handled.
The very first item introduced is the Mage Cannon Prototype that she lugs around, which can be used to condense a spell and fire it out of its accelerator barrel at massive distances.
In some other universes, they may be known simply as "Artificiers".
