Next month's chapter in Transmission will see the characters competing in UK Robot Wars - with their brand new heavyweight Polaris - a sleek 105kg wedge with a front-hinged flipper with enough strength to launch a Ford Transit van. It's design is derived from the real life competitors Push To Exit and Apollo. Polaris get's its name from the star of the same name, as well as the UK's first submarine based nuclear weapons system. The smaller robot on the right is Proxima Centauri, a 13kg lifter/pusher built to compete in the featherweight competition.
The characters' roles in the team are as follows; Russell is the team captain and mechanic, Linda is the electrician and weapons operator, and Reggie is the driver and welder.
