Having traveled the limits of their stolen vehicle's capacity, the trio sets out on foot once more, finding their way to a small house in the forest.

Don't see strangers around here too much. Well no, Mr. Bear, I guess you wouldn't what with the end of the world and you living out in the middle of nowhere. That doesn't exactly make for a busy social life! That's probably pretty lucky for him, though, seeing how many unfriendly folks are running around, too.
As for Sierra and her friends, I'm kind of surprised the truck took them as far as it did. Fuel would be so rare and precious in a post-apocalyptic world I'd be amazed if it had anything like a full tank when the took it. But I imagine it was nice while it lasted, and it looks like the roads are still in decent enough shape that it wouldn't have been too rough a ride. I hope they thought to push it off the road and into the trees before abandoning it, though. I don't know if the people who they stole it from will bother to chase them that far, but better safe than sorry.
I'm very curious to see if they take Mr. Bear up on his offer, too. If he lives out there by himself, he must know where to find a source of drinkable water and have at least some idea of what sort of terrain they might run into as they carry on. Or place to hide if they run into trouble.

I imagine even before the war he enjoyed having a nice quiet place to call his own, but at least it means he can have what he needs to survive since he doesn't need much. While there is a fair share of hostiles running around, no doubt this bear subscribes to the idea of hanging on to civilization and friendliness. :)
Given the Initiative probably has a fair amount of them I'm sure they have a significant fuel reserve, but even half a tank can get you pretty far compared to walking. :) Maybe it even had working heat/AC. :) Though no doubt six years after the war there were probably more potholes.... Though the Initiative has more at their disposal than land vehicles. ;)
If nothing else, he can offer a place to rest for a bit and a hot meal. ;)
