This is an old idea, for a possible game, that I'm still kinda kicking around.
Made these 100% from scratch BTW. e_e
As if the title wasn't a giveaway, it's basically a game about giant monsters fighting each other, in the spirit of such classics as Neo Geo's King of Monsters games. Basically you get to pick one of seven city stomping creatures and have them face off against an opponent in the center of a populated city. Buildings collapse, cars explode, occaisional military action, etc. etc. the whole nine yards.
The Cast:
-Nessie: Inspired by the legendary cryptozoological monster, Nessie was the designated water-based monster, utilizing attacks that harness her aquatic nature. I tried to give her a playful demeanor.
-Cerebulor: Ah yes, one of the first creatures, of this roster, that I made. Inspired by various giant brain monster movies, Cerebulor was a scientist whose experiment changed him into a giant megalomanical brain creature with ambitions to bring to the world to it's knees. So yeah, he's one of the more eviler monsters. A fun concept to play with.
-Rotack: A seemingly living weapon made by the military. He's the more brutish of the 7 creatures, thus would be the Zangief of the group, the strongest yet slowest. Tried to make him look like some cross between an ape and a frankenstein monster.... golem... robot thing.
-Ded Eye: A blob-like creature who was once a man. His origins tied into Cerebulor's creation. He'd take on all sorts of different shapes, or created different weapons, as he fought. If I were able to EVER finish at least one of the characters, it'd probably be Ded Eye, since he's a big pile of slime, thus no constant form.
-ShioWan Funaho: Can't have a giant monster game without the obligatory Godzilla-like character. So here's ShioWan Funaho, a giant monster from Asia. Basically mixing together Godzilla and Fin Fang Foom, thus the silly sounding name and the fu manchu-like stache thing. Really liked how he turned out.
-Wyldsyde: The big guest-star of the game. Figured it'd be fun to bring in someone who you wouldn't expect to see, and I was (and still am) quite the fan of Wyld's work and fursona. Got Wyld's blessing to use her in the game. She'd be the enigma of the roster, as nobody would know where she (a giant buxom anthropomorphic cat girl) came from. Would (or will) be quite the challenge to try and bring her personality through in the game.
-Quasar Pixie: This is an interesting character. I asked a friend of mine to make a character in the spirit of various giant superheroes, like Ultraman for example, but make it a chick. You know... something different from the norm. Thus he eventually came back with Quasar Pixie, an alien superheroine from a planet of giants that has been sent to Earth to prove herself, as well as save mankind in the process.
And that's the roster of characters.
Sadly, this game has been moving at a snail's pace, since it's a one-man crew, and it's challenging to make poses and animation. So I wouldn't, unless some miracle were to occur, expect to see much of anything new from this idea in the near future.
