A child of the banished shark clan, she has gills for swimming in deep water and a windpipe for oral breathing. The last name, Bazildaughter, is given to female child of the clan, Bazilson for males. These names are a sign of respect for the God Bazil who gave the clan their fur and brought them to their new home on dry land.

The soft fur easily retains heat, and is also hydrophobic; a good shake or dance after a swim will see most of the water expelled from their coat. Both sexes normally shake quickly while saving dancing to signal interest in a mate or as part of a party dance where a group of females dance together opposite a group of males. Such dances like this take place on a peninsula so that both groups rise from the sea, dancing the water off their bodies as they approach one another. The clan village is near a peninsula specifically for these dances.
