I spent alot of time on this one, specially the background. He is a half-dragon boy I sketched in a parkinglot. I think it took atleast 48 hours.. i'm not too sure. I sold a 24x36 of this at dragoncon the second day, it looks its best at that size. Colored in photoshop 2.0 with an aiptek tablet.

Gah! This is just so vibrant with life! It doesn't seem like it's just a rain scene, but it has the feel as though the creation of that world is in progress. You weren't afraid to put in all the elements of sky, land, and water, and instead of having so much going on looking cluttered, everything is perfectly balanced with each other and all of it belongs. My favorite parts of this are the planets rings, and his belt.
Yea, I wanted it to feel like it was inbetween rain and sun, like when its sunny and it rains, its like a surreal scene full of several emotions unspoken. I lucked out that it turned out looking so balanced, luckilly i seem to have some natural sense of composition. I'm glad you like it so much, this is one of my favorite peices too.
