Umbreon is the pokemon.. and yes.. we all know it belongs to nintendo so i dont bother to add it..

Seisei is the name of the character. And he IS partially the pokemon Umbreon by race.

I dunno looks a lot like the pokemon to me.

It is a pokemon. He copyrighted the character Seisei and not the pokemon race itself to himself; He copyrighted Seisei's design/his behavior/ect to himself, though not the pokemon.

I seriously doubt EVERY one of them actually went and bought copyrights on their characters XD See for characters you never copyright it, because you CANT copyright characters! You can only trademark them!

You can only trademark names. And trademarking a name is dumb. You can copyright characters, like Sonic is copyrighted to Sega and the name Sega is a trademark. You only trademark names, but not personality or looks, these fall under the copyright.

For creating something like a character you get something like a creativity copyright which almost everyone respects.

Some artists DO buy copyrights or the likes for their art/characters.

Please get your facts straight before trying to point out something.

They were able to copyright sonic since Sonic is an actual product, not just a symbol or character. You can copyright an image as well since thats an actual object, not just a symbol. The character itself you have to trademark however.
