A ref for my character Astro's species, Astropups.

Astropups are a race of space dwelling canines that feed primarily on stardust. They are capable of flight and gravity manipulation and usually travel from nebula to nebula in small packs searching for food.

Astropups can be any color but tend to be duotone with markings and eye colors that contrast to their base color. Bright blue, hot pink, bright green, and bright purple are the most common colors. They are very fluffy in the top half of their body and have a mane running from head to tail down their backs. Their ears are usually tufted but can also be straight and in rare cases floppy or crooked. Astropups have very short muzzles, more like cats really. They have three fingers on each hand (not counting the thumb), and no claws.

Every Astropup has a star at the end of their tail. This star varies in size and glows based on the Astropup's different moods. Astropups have star shaped pawpads and will always have at least one star marking adorning their body. These stars and any other markings glow in the dark along with their eyes.

Astropups are typically very bright and happy creatures and do not like full clothing. Arm and leg warmers are standard, but no shirts or pants (they are very fluffy with big ears and it's hard to put that stuff on). They are not big fans of jewelry and generally have a low pain tolerance so few of them have piercings.

Astropups live a very long time and so do not count their age in years. Instead they have stages which go as follows:

Pup: Baby to Young Teen
Youngling: Older Teen to Young Adult
Adult: Mature Adult
Elder: Older Adult to just plain Old
