(
Yosh-E-O’s character is so cute. I just had to draw him again.)
Yosh stretched and yawned as he climbed out of bed. The cold floor chilled his bare feet, briefly causing him to lose feeling in his toes before they adapted to the temperature. Carefully, the blind duck-dragon walked forward, his legs forced slightly apart by the thick garment wrapped around his rump.
He felt the sunlight coming from the window, feeling the warmth on his body. He moved toward the source of the heat, feeling more of the warm sunlight all over his body. He could hear a gentle breeze, coming from the window from which the sun flowed through. He moved towards the source, holding his hands out at around above-waist level, knowing that’s how high the window was.
His hands suddenly felt the smooth stone texture of the window sill. He stood there, feeling both the sunlight and refreshing breeze blow against him. It didn’t matter that he couldn’t see anything, the feeling was so good even without sight. He heard the door to his room open, causing him to look in it’s direction, wondering who it is.
(Description for Yosh:
Yosh standing in front of a window on his tippy toes. He is slightly bent forward, giving the viewer a good look at his padded rear as he looks over his shoulder at the camera, with his light blue eyes. The Floor is a very pale purple with the exception of the floor right in front of the window, which is white from the light. The walls are a different shade of purple with acrylic patterns of a darker shade of purple.
The Window sill consists of a light gray color with dark gray acrylic patterns. Outside the window is a poor drawing of one of Celestia’s Castle Towers, which has a gray base, yellow window and indigo colored roof, with a gold weather vane on top. The sky behind it is light blue with some lighter blue acrylic patterns.)

Oh, wow! I genuinely felt the sun and breeze as I read your story. Definitely a wonderful way to capture the non-visual senses.
I really appreciate how you openly write about blind Yosh. You do a really good job capturing what it is like to not have sight. I'd dare say your writing would genuinely make me believe you have sight loss and/or work with the blind for a living. You paint such a vivid 'feel' for the work and I can tell you don't feel worry when writing on such a topic. It really is the closest I've seen to "Snowdrop" since, well, Snowdrop.
*Snugs* Very well done, Leon. Certainly much to be proud of.
Do you make visual descriptions in all your work? If so, I invite you to send me links so I can follow them. (The Submission folder is not as easy to get through without using screen searches every time I check it for a specific user name. I can do that but it's easier to know when you may be posting so I can follow better. You could even just place a link in my shouts if that would be easy?)

I've seen Blind characters and how well they've reacted to the world around in TV and books in stuff. One that comes to mind is Simeon from Mariel of Redwall.
I was only planning on making Visual descriptions for my works about Yosh, but If you'd like, I could start using them more.

I've heard much about "Red Wall". Perhaps I should see if I can read it myself? The app I have gives me a lot of access to many books. :)
No worries about putting visual descriptions in everything. If you ever have a work you'd like me to see just let me know about it. :) I do try my best to follow all I can despite no longer being able to physically see art.
Oh, question, I was wondering if I could still post to FiM Fiction "The Unseen Birthday"? I didn't get to do it earlier and I'd love to use that recent pic for it. I'd link you appropriately. :)

Thanks, Leon. I understand the image is truly unique to the cute tale you've written above. However, in my head, I can see it doing well as a pic to share "Unseen Birthday".
I've really meant to share it and feel this has inspired me to do so. I do hope others like it as much as I did as, honestly, you truly captured something special through writing it. Wonderful feels all over. :)
