I don't know what happened to put Hazard Drake in the hospital, but the cold blooded dragon is out like a light.
What do you bring a dragon in the hospital when you visit? Sulfur? Kerosene?

People think dragons are super durable creatures, but that's not always the case. There are a wide range of dragon species, some more hardy than others.
Flying and fire breathing species, like Hazard, can be surprisingly fragile. Sure he can shoot fire from his mouth, breathe comfortably in toxic smoke filled buildings, fly, and drink kerosene for food. When things go wrong though, it can be quite debilitating. Those lungs that can breathe in places that would kill mammals aren't so great when it comes to dealing with an infection. Mammals would be over such a thing relatively quickly, not so for poor Hazard.
Thankfully, modern medicine makes such illnesses much more comfortable and their duration much shorter. An IV of antitoxin, a little antibiotics, and a comfy heated mattress to keep his body temperature high take what used to be an often lethal infection and make it into an inconvenience.
The worst part for poor Hazard is the feeling of helplessness. Though he is in no danger of dying, his lungs are still at a fraction of capacity. Too weak to move himself, let alone take care of himself, he is confined to bed. Being dependent on others for all your basic needs is emotionally difficult for someone used to doing everything themselves. Thankfully he has no problem spending almost all of the day fast asleep. It's exactly what his body needs and exactly what the doctors want him to do anyway.
Get well soon little dragon. Work and family will be happy to have you with them again once you are back to normal.
Background: I came up with the basic idea for this a year ago when I was recovering from lower back surgery. A nice bit of slice-of-life

Two doctors having an argument:
So do we classify him as Ectothermic or Exothermic?
Ectothermic, he's a reptile, can't regulate his body temperature very well,
But he can breathe fire,
Yeah... that's pretty exothermic,
Let's put both on the chart to avoid confusion,
So we'll write that he's cold blooded and explodes on his chart, that'll make folks real happy,
You know what, let's just go with cold blooded,
Deal.
