I took this on the telescope on top of my uni physics department a few weeks ago. I thought I should post it here, as I do have quite a serious interest in astronomy (I mean, I'm doing a physics degree with some heavy emphasis on astrophysics, so I should hope so!)
I'm sorry that its not that great. It wwas my first attempt, and I'd never been *shown* how to use the telescope+camera rig, I just sat in a 45 minute lecture that was mostly about saftety, security, and protection of the equipment; nothing on how to get good pictures.
All in all, this took me about 3 hours, one in a cold telescope, two on my laptop, editing.
Hopefully there'll be minimal cloud when the moon is next full, and I'll get some better pictures then.

Thanks a bunch. I messed about with RGB settings and exposure, I'm sure the original picture came out pink because of the calibration images I took (light pollution in Nottingham is a bitch).
But yeah, I think a full-moon picture might have a different tone, though I do like exaggerating the features, which might have had something to do with the light/dark border, so it could be difficult to recreate on a fuller moon
