There are two girls.

The first one feels unpretty. She wants to work hard for her appearance. She wants to be popular, to be noticed. She wants people to acknowledge she exists, and she feels the need to change herself in order to do that. She doesn't know what people like. She spends many nights alone, and feels like no one wants to talk to her. She wishes she's someone else.

The second one is unhappy. She is told that she is pretty. She feels that she isn't, unless she puts on makeup. She has to remain popular to feel like she is relevant. She is surrounded by peers who are like her, but she does not feel like they like her. She is tired of putting on a smile on her face for another day. She wishes she's someone else.

A person can't be in two places at once, but right now I'm looking at both of their reflections and I see myself.
