Of those that discover these invisible strands, fewer see fit to manipulate them, leisurely toying with the fates of mortals for naught but their own enjoyment. How easily a man's faith can be shattered with a single omen; Kings dethroned with but a few words; Wars sparked and ended with such simple deceit...

It was not long for Azrien, long fatigued of the dull, unchanging world around him, began to dabble in such acts, unaware of what watched him from the realm beyond... And when it came for him, he welcomed it with open arms.
