I'd read that Zhu Bajie was originally an Immortal. but cast from the Heavens after trying to seduce another immortal. When that came about, and his judgement was passed, he was to be reincarnated, and never allowed to live in the Land of Immortals, but something went wrong in the Reincarnation process, and he was born to a pig mother, but lives as a human, which explains his figure. Though not a master of martial arts like Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie excels in sheer power! Which is what I like about him!
