Most definitely, dude! I think you should do so immediately!
And yeah- I tend to smirk for some reason in photos, as my way of dealing with the discomfort, but this one I just look thoroughly unimpressed, I think. Actually, I was totally happy that night anyway- this pic is a lie! XD

My problems with photos are as such
#1 I can't find anyone to take a photo of me (can't stand photos I take of myself)
#2 I can't seem to find a pik I'm happy with
#3 I have a DSi and a camera phone, so other than my webcam I have no descent cameras with which to photograph myself (and the webcam circles back to complaint #1)

The newest model Gameboy from Nintendo. It's got 2 screens (one on top of the other, the lower one is a touch screen) it has internet capabilities (I use it to check FA when I'm not at home), 2 cameras (one facing towards the user and one facing away to take photos of friends I guess) and a microphone (a number of games use it for everything from voice commands to blowing out fires to creating wind for your sailboat to... sail)
So if you were to really boil it down it's a really spiffy PDA meant to play games.
You can check it out here: http://www.nintendo.com/ds/dsi
The list of Nintendo approved games can be seen here: http://www.nintendo.com/games/guide#qhardware=DS
As far as the excuses, I'm not photogenic at all. In video I'm set because my face has a wide range of emotions that it will switch through in any given situation, but if a picture is taken of me it always looks awkward. Think of it like this, if you are watching a movie, everyone looks good in action but if you were to take a still-frame at any point during the movie they are guaranteed to come out looking weird at best, usually looking like they have down syndrome / their face has been numbed / they just woke up, lol.

Holy hell- that's a pretty impressive gaming device right there! The last thing I had was a PS2, which I sold a couple years back- no time for games unfortunately (or is that fortunately?), but then again my life is about watching films, which I have to spend a lot of time doing (not complaining!).
I have to say, I find it very interesting the way your mind is so analytical about everything (or so it seems, so far in the conversations I've had with you)- that will certainly take you places in life, especially since you also seem so calm, and not devoid of humour. Hope you don't mind me saying so- I mean it as a compliment.

Yea it seems like everything can do everything nowadays, phones that can play MP3s, MP3 players that you can use as a phone, WHERE WILL IT END!
I don't think I ever asked you what your form of employment was. I assume simply watching movies isn't the entirety of it, so are you a critic?
I take no offence at all and I actually blushed when I read it, so believe me it was taken as a compliment, thank you, lol.

Well, *my* phone has little numbers on it, and when I press them in a specific sequence, it totally calls people! How crazy is that?! It has games too- I throw it as hard as I can, and my dog chases it and brings it back to me. Technology these days. :P
Ew, a critic! Lowest of the low! Hehe- nah- I run a small cinema (about 40 staff, and 8 cinema screens)- been in the industry for just over 11 years, so I know a lot of folks and tend to get involved with a lot of industry decisions. The plus side is, I have to be seen to be supporting all studios and their product, you see- that means I *have* to go to as many of the initial screenings as I can. There are times when I love my job, let me tell you! ^^

LMAO, that's awesome, you deserve a high-five for that
Give it a couple more years though and phones will no longer have buttons 'cause it'll all be made of the most fragile material possible and have voice command dialing -_-'
If that were to be the case however, I would name my phone 'Uhura' (Star Trek reference, lol.)
It's odd how many movie theatre owners I know 0_0
Ahh, so unlike a critic, your opinion actually matters!
That's quite cool in fact :) The biggest claim to fame any other theatre owner I know can say is their theatres house a couple film festivals a year. Interesting, until you actually sit and watch the dribble. Mind you a few diamonds pop from the rough from time to time, but $15 a ticket or $300 per season isn't worth it to sift through the stink, especially when they sell the DVDs of the film you just watched for $7-$10 on your way out...
I believe they are letting their fear of success cloud their judgement. They refuse to advertise properly so they restrict themselves to a small pool where they consider themselves "big fish", leading them to the unfortunate delusions of grandeur. From that viewpoint they feel they can off-balance what they offer to what they charge, driving customers away. Instead of seeing that as a flaw and lowering their prices or putting more effort into a consumer friendly environment, they increase their prices to compensate the loss of money therefore driving even more customers away and the circle begins anew.

Actually I think you just pretty much summed up the entire movie industry right there, lol!
Let me tell you- from my time over at Head Office when I was booking all the product for the whole country, I had to deal with a few festivals- those people are the biggest pain in the bum to deal with, seriously. *So* much work goes into setting up a festival from an exhibition point of view, and then the festival organisers are on the phone or in your face every 5 minutes, because their festival is the most important thing in the whole world.
Never mind the 7 other sites you have to deal with, or all of the major Hollywood product you're trying to fit in and market. It's *all* about the festival. Hated it!

Oh, gods, I know where you are coming from, my mothers' boyfriend is on the Film Festival committee and he seems to be the only person who realizes that the fest is only one egg in a big (crowded) basket for a theatre owner... I suppose that's what you get from fanatics of anything. Acting as though if their item/belief/opinion were not brought to as many people as possible the world would fall apart at the seams. It's chicken little all over again :)
Babies make *way* too much noise, and they smell! Punching grandmothers though- that's where it's at! Sadly, they also smell.
Hehe- nah, I'm a gentle soul- honest! ^^
And thankyou for your kind words. *blushes* I thoroughly need to take a page from your book though and start cycling and exercising and such- good on ya for that!

What I wanna know, is why any food that's good for you tastes like crap or is not as good as junk-food, and why our brains aren't wired to make exercise fun.
*shakes fist at the imaginary sky-daddy responsible*
Heh, didn't figure you for a particularly violent person, despite your rather intimidating appearance in that picture, but you are correct about babies and old people being not particularly attractive when it comes to the sense of smell.

Well I.... I guess I could- I am paying for my friend to come from the States this year, then I'm going there next May, so I'll plan for a third vacation, shall I?! I guess after 11.5 years with this company and no vacation in that time, I kinda deserve it......
So tell me, what's good in Norway?!
So tell me, what's good in Norway?!
Uh... on second thoughts don't. There is nothing in Norway worth traveling all this way and spending all this money on, unless you want to go up into the Arctic circle during Winter to see the Aurora. This country is INSANELY expensive ($NZ15 a 400ml glass of beer to give you an idea of equivlaent costs, and no, I am not joking). If you do end up visiting Europe, hit up places like the Netherlands, Austria, Lithuania, Turkey, Italy, Croatia, Ireland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Estonia...
However if you do ever make it to Oslo, lemme know because I can always give you somewhere to stay - we have a spare room in the flat we bought here.
On the positive side, there are some attractive guys here, although it's hit and miss whether or not they are tourists just visiting

Arctic what's that now? Coldness? There's a *reason* I'm so hairy- it keeps me warm! Seriously don't do cold places- besides- I hear if you drink enough, you can totally see the aurora anywhere!
That's...... amazingly expensive for a beer, dude! Granted, it's 8 bucks a beer in a pub here these days- might have gone up a bit since you were last here!

Holy crap - 8 bucks? Yeah, that is a lot more expensive than it used to be.
Well, if you do ever get possessed by a fit of madness and decide to visit this part of the world, you've got somewhere to crash. We've got a spare room here that you would be welocme to use.
Still miss NZ though... for all it's faults it will always be home

Thanks dude- I appreciate the offer very much and am actually warmed on the inside from it! ^^
Faults? NZ? Oh, you're referring to the tectonic plates underneath! Yes, indeed- treacherous at times (especially lately). I almost thought you were suggesting that NZ is in fact *not* a perfect country....
Just keep it in mind as your goal, that you want to build your own slice of paradise down south- it'll happen before ya know it! ^^

http://pics.livejournal.com/lincard.....llery/000312fw - pics taken on/around our section in Te Miro... you're absolutely right y'know. I occasionally look at the pictures and imagine what it would be liking coming home to that and realize it's all worthwhile.
Heh, yeah heard that just of late that when NZ's a rockin', don't come a knockin'. Was there much damage or anything? Were you able to feel it in Dorkland? (gonna feel like a twat if you tell me it was down the bottom of the South Island or something :-P )

What a beautiful place! Of course, I'm quite used to the Waikato's uncanny dense, lush bush mixed in with.... sparse brownish hills! Until the Spring of course, when everything is lush and lovely. Looks like a great place to build yourself a home. Did I tell you I own a rental property in Te Kauwhata, just north of Hamilton?
Please, don't feel like a twat- but yes! It was just off the coast at the bottom of the Milford Sound, but ended up doing no damage, despite being 7.4 or so on the Richter (sounds rude). Though within the last year, Rotovegas has been fairly active, along with many other places in the North Island- I at one stage counted 12 quakes measuring over 3 in the space of a month, and 3 of those were over 4 on the Richter. I'd say something kinda serious is brewing, but I'm not a seismologist so it's an uneducated guess.
Can't say as I've ever felt any quakes all the way out here by the Kaipara though!

The property is mostly bush, with a grassy bit where the house will go eventually, and a small stream flowing through it. The bush is only beginning to regenerate properly now that it's fenced and stupid cows and sheep can no longer graze through it. Yeah you mentioned about the property in Te Kauwhata... is it rural or in that small settlement there? Wouldn't have thought there would be much of a market for rental property in that part of the country, but if it's giving you a bit of pocket money, then it's all good
Well, i appreciate the kind thoughts, but I still feel like a twat. If the faults are all acting up it could indicate something brewing, but I would imagine the Geologists would be warning of that if it were the case. With each trembler though it is relieving stress on the fault-lines, so it could actually be indicating something big WONT happen.
But NZ is still overdue a large natural disaster For all that, however, Auckland would probably be relatively safe. Don't ever think there will be a large earthquake or volcano in our lifetimes there.
