ARGHBKLEVKLDJKAS!! I do NOT know how to get a better scan of this thinga until it's finished/colored! I am SO SORRY. But anyhoo, here's a pic I finished last night. Two new fellas I want you to meet. Lem and Meringue :)

Lem (short for Lemongrass) is the young king of a species called the quickdarts. You can think of 'em as sorta honeypossum/cheetah faeries. They are very, -very- fast fliers and have long prehensile tails that they wrap around flowers an' branches and whatnot. Their wings tend to be very glittery and colorful. Poor King Lem just lost both his parents within the past year (also the reason for his quick succession to the throne). The culprits are suspected to be..

..a tribe called the wehani, which is what Meringue is. Think of 'em as raccoon/skunk butterfly things. Cute and innocent looking, eh? THINK AGAIN. The wehani are nasty, vicious predators. They are born with clear wings, antennae, and white stripes. They gain their color by killing and eating the flesh of another animal, whether it be a fellow wehani, or a quickdart like Lem, or whatever. The prettier the pelt, the better, because the more elaborate and colorful a wehani's wings and stripes are, the higher his or her rank in the tribe. Nasty little butterfluckers!

HOWEVER, young Meringue's wings are still clear, and his stripes are white! Why? He's a vegetarian! (for some reason, they can't take colors from a carrot or tomato!). Merrie has always been repulsed by the tribe's ways of doing things, and the only reason he isn't dead at the hands of another tribe member is because he's the medicine man/shaman. Talk about job security! :)

So, what's gonna happen when these two come across each other? Well, you tell me! :)
