Can anyone say "ERGH!" I tried to do this the same as the renamon pic... I failed, but at least I got this to look soft while still maintaining a certain amount of details.

The picture still looks amazing. The pose and face looks very natural and it just fits together very well. Plus the mono color scheme is a nice touch. Looks like the shading would have been a pain in the butt though.
