It's that time of the year again! Here's my yearly review:

This year was a whirlwind. I actually got extremely excited putting this meme together because I actually had a LOT of artwork to choose from! I struggled a lot picking pieces to put in here since I had a lot of honorable mentions. In the end I either chose a piece I thought was really good, was the most iconic of that month, or was my personal favorite/made me the happiest to look at. I passed up a couple TS pages for this reason, but, hey, gotta go with my gut!

I felt this year had a lot of positives art-wise. I feel my work has gotten a lot stronger, if not through the content I draw then the speed I do it in. I've definitely gotten a lot faster at drawing, and I hope this benefits me later. I explored a lot of mediums this year: watercolor, pencil lines, pen inks, texturing, inks, digital, etc. Just a lot! This preview alone has mostly mixed media! I think the ONLY piece in here that is fully one thing is December, which is all digital. Everything else is traditional linework with digital color, save for the first two! And that really excites me! I love doing both!

Huge art-related successes this year: 3 artist's alleys under my belt (2 small, 1 large), 2 portfolio reviews with editors, 1 completed comic pitch with BOOM, completed my long-awaited The Selection prologue revamp, finished 2 different Inktobers, AND my personal favorite pet project, completed my 100k+ word fanfiction. I'm so so happy with this year. I am hoping next year will bring even more good content, as 2018 is the year I graduate, and I plan to dedicate a massive amount of my time to being serious about my comic stuff. I would like to get a consistent update schedule for TS at some point, and will be starting it as soon as I'm able. I feel I'm finally getting confidence to do this and I'm going to try for it. It'll be tough during my last 2 quarters, but at the very least by summer I'd like something confirmed. I'll also be starting up a Patreon next year, just to test out the waters. It'll be a big question mark of a year, but it's time to start!
