I loved the song too, instead i dont know how to speak russian but i liked the song anyways.
i made my best and im pleased with the final drawing.

Translation notes: snakes in question are likely meant non-poisonous, like grass-snakes, based on all the references to them in Russian folklore, so "viper" in alt translation of second verse isn't too precise.

It isn't how I see it, but then I was asking for your own impression -- and it's awesome.
The youtube link you dropped is pretty interesting -- while it has completely different Slavic imagery than the song refers to (it refers to early industrial age Urals tales, like the famous "Stone Flower" or "Malachite Casket" -- they refer to the grass-snakes there, I think -- the non-poisonous kind, and in some of them, to lizards), the final image struck a nerve with me -- because I was just a couple days ago discussing exactly what the words there say with my wife.
The final frame in that flic has words "Мой бог меня рабом не называл" -- "My god didn't call me a slave" -- the flic obviously was made by some Pagan. I won't bother you with the story behind that unless you want to hear it yourself, as, you being a Christian, it could possibly offend you -- but if you want to, I will share it.
And again, thanks a lot for the picture -- I wasn't really expecting it -- and it's pretty beautiful and it's fun to see your vision :)

oh no no, dont missunderstand me, im christian but im not the legalist type, believe me, xD.... i listen to pagan music too, like Mago de ôz -spanish pagan group-, im a teologist student, so im open minded.
yeah, it would be easier if i knew how to speak russian XD... but i liked the music and the vocalist voice.

I studied religions, too, only on my own.
And the event I meant is...
My wife is Orthodox Christian, I'm pagan (but don't belong to any group and consider organized religion the single worst humanity's invention even if you account for NBC triad), and we weren't going to baptize our children until they grow up and can decide for themselves, but lately my granny was making a huge fuzz about it, and my wife raised the subject again. I very reluctantly agreed, provided that she'll make sure that no further religious conditioning would take place, only the education. And I said that I won't be present there, as hearing "раб божий" -- "slave of God" literally (Servus Dei) addressed to anyone close to me -- is pretty certain to make me flip.
I respect free will a lot and baptizing children while they can't make an informed choice themselves seems a major transgression to me... At least, on my part...
