A Christmas gift from my very good friend
.
As you know, Baby Burr would invite me around the holidays for a Christmas commission and he would allow me to select the artist and the theme of the pic.
For this year, I've selected
to do the pic, and my theme would be me and Digitz building a snowman.
One lazy afternoon with nothing to do on a snowy covered day, Marshall decided to go see what his friend Digitz is up to. So after putting on his snow hat, scarf, mittens, and snow boots, Marshall headed towards the cool burr's house.
Marshall knocked on the door and Michelle answered it. "Hi Marshall!" said Michelle sweetly.
"Hi Michelle!" Marshall answered politely. "Can Digitz come out and play today?"
"Of course!" answered Michelle. "He needs to get outside and play in the nice fresh snow. Come inside, and I'll get him ready."
Marshall went inside and sat in the living room while Michelle went upstairs to get Digitz ready. "Give me a few minutes Marshall." says Michelle. "I have to change him in a extra thick diaper and make sure he's all bundled up to play outside."
Marshall waited for a while. Then he heard Digitz and Michelle come down the stairs while having a typical mom to son conservation.
"Aw mom!" whined Digitz as he waddled into the living room in his fresh thick diaper. "Did you have to make the diaper extra thick?! I could barely waddle in all this padding!"
"I'm just making sure honey." answered Michelle. "I don't want you to re-enter the house a few minutes later for another change." she said as she adjusted a warm scarf around Digitz's neck.
"Alright." said Digitz with a sigh.
"Now you two play nicely outside." said Michelle. "And be sure to be back inside around 6pm for dinnertime." She then opened up the front door and the two cubs waddled outside in the cold air. "Have fun you two!!" she then called out before closing the door.
So, what do you wanna do today Marshall?" asked Digitz.
"I know! Let's build a snowman!" answered Marshall with glee.
"Perfect!" answered Digitz. "I know a empty area near the ski lodge that has a lot of snow on the ground. It'll be a perfect spot to build our new cold friend!"
"Are you sure we're allowed to play over there?" asked Marshall.
"Sure!" replied Digitz. "Tony's cousin operates the ski lodge, and he knows me. I play in that empty field every winter."
So Marshall and Digitz headed over to the ski resort, which isn't far off from where they live. Soon Marshall and Digitz finally reached the empty field which is a few feet away from the ski lifts. Marshall was overwhelmed at the sight of the snow on the ground.
"Perfect!" squealed Marshall. "There must be at least 8 inches of snow to build a snowman!"
"Okay, let's start building!" said Digitz. The two cubs then started building the huge bottom base by rolling up a huge snowball together.
"Okay, I'll build the middle base while you build the head, Marshall." said Digitz.
"Already on it." said Marshall as he rolled another snowball for the head.
With the two bases already connected, Marshall and Digitz teamed together to get the head on the very top on the second base. Then Marshall gathered up some small rocks and, while getting a boost from Digitz, added the rocks on the head as the eyes, mouth and as buttons on the middle base.
Marshall then added a carrot for the nose. Digitz then found some tree branches and added them on the middle base for the arms.
Soon afterwards, the snowman was complete. Digitz then pulled out his iPhone. "It's time for a selfie with our cold new friend!" he said as he and Marshall stood next to the snowman as Digitz snapped a few photos.
Once the photo shoot was done, Marshall and Digitz then said goodbye to their new cold friend by giving the snowman a big hug before they headed back to the neighborhood.
"So, what'cha doing this year for Christmas, Marshall?" asked Digitz as the two cubs headed back home.
"Oh, probably go to my grandparents home up north. answered Marshall. "In fact, we're heading up there this weekend."
"That's nice!" said Digitz. "As for me, I'll be staying at home with my family this year. As usual, my cousins, Jax and Max are visiting again."
"Uh-oh!" replied Marshall. "Hope those two won't ruin your Christmas."
"Actually, Max has reformed a lot this year." answered Digitz. "he's very content now as a big baby burr. Jax, on the other hand, still remains a bully. But I'll assure you that Michelle will keep a sharp eye on him on this visit."
And so, the two cubs finally reached Digitz's house. "Well, I gotta go inside Marshall. It's been a lot of fun playing with you!"
"Same here!" said Marshall. And Merry Christmas to you, Baby Burr!"
The two cubs then hugged each other. And once Digitz entered his house, Marshall went back to his warm house, for he knows it's getting late and suppertime's about ready.
Thank you Digitz for inviting me to another holiday commissiom. And thank you Ozzy for a wonderful pic!
