Ok, I get it. You've set up a wonderful story and when I wasn't paying attention, tied me to railroad tracks. And now, that I can't escape your malevolent ass, you've chosen the train that will exact my demise, but, oh NO, that's not NEARLY enough! You stop the train and release each car, one by motherfucking one, and you smile and grin and revel in your evil and my torment.
All of that to say these last chapters feel so abrupt and in my face, like they have no business existing or they're grammatically incorrect, but I have no choice but to deal with it because it's...

From what's been said so far. . maybe I'm weird but. . .
I wouldn't be upset if I was told that. I think I would feel guilty and empathize with Samuel.
I mean from what I can tell he had as genuine a case of true love as there can be and then out pops a baby you weren't expecting and your wife dies the next day from an internal bleed. All while you're "working a minimum wage job to get through college." I would have dropped that baby like it's hot too. (I can't believe that's how i decided to say give up for adoption :3)

Life is hard, and sometimes ugly feelings are a part of it. I know how it feels like to have feelings you know you shouldn't have, feelings that are unjustified and petty, but still you can't get rid of them. Its imperfect human (fur?) nature. So I guess, yeah, best to opt for the road that causes the less harm and pain possible, even if it still has a lot of pain in it. Pain is an unavoidable part of life, and we all just have to deal with it, one way or another.
Then again, so is healing and forgiveness, but that takes growth and maturity, and our world and society of instantaneous things and fast-track lives and "clear cut" answers and mentalities really isn't the best fodder for its development. Yet, some people thankfully do let themselves grow, and try hard. It would seem so has been the case for Venti throughout this series. He's not perfect, but at the very least he's improved a lot in the self-absorbedness and the maturity department. ^^
