Eos enjoying some 'essential daily nutrition' bars.
To help lengthen their life, Fourth Ascended members will change their diets into a very basic diet of only meeting the daily essentials, cutting out most, if not all kinds of preservatives and unnecessary intakes. The food is basically like pet food (know how we feed our pets pretty much the same stuff all their lives?), but for people :P
Most of the society look down on the 4ths, as usual, as it reminds them of their near extinction of the race from when the last time they ventured into replacing body parts with machine parts.

The mom is being a bitch, but she's teaching her kid societal norms like a parent should. Don't repeat the mistakes of the past and all that. She's also got a cute ass.
On the whole, I'm reminded of the first Robocop movie, where they took a moment to develop the whole thing about his nutrient paste. "Tastes like baby food" was what Johnson said, followed by the scientist saying that "...his digestive system is extremely simple." I don't recall him ever actually eating in those movies, leaving open the possibility that he didn't. It was just infused into him periodically.
Also, the Fourth looks so bored, appropriate for someone who eats the same thing every day. I find myself wondering what she's thinking of while taking care of the chore of eating.
