Well this is the fish i rescued last night from euthinesia due to malformation. he has a really screwed up head where as a tiny fish he tried at full speed to go through plate glass. well his skull gave and the glass won. his jaw sticks out really badly on one side and his right eye is back about an inch from where the left eye is (the left side being his good side like in this pic) But as a great lover of fish i could not let his death occur especiall since he is healthy and eats and seems a wonderful fish that the owners had to give up due to a cross country move and fears of all thier fish not making it. They had brought in all thier fish to the fish store last night (Elmers Aquarium in Pittsburgh). they took all of them but that one and put them in either quaratine or geenral populace (i am pretty sure they knew the guy who brought them in and seem to deal with a lot of locals and local breeders anyway. but this one they knew because of his looks and the way a lot of people are in the hobby his chances of getting a home were slim. The lady in charge of the fish wasn't sure she could get him a home and the guy and his kid were obviously upset at that. and then i came over cause i had been curious to see what was in the cooler being toted all over the store. and there he was. the most beautiful ugly fish ever! He may be deformed and odd but to me he was gorgeous! so they gave him to me and now he lives in the big aquarium that had only a pleco in it.
he makes me so happy! Just like all my other mutant fish i end up with. like my cherry barb with no colour and my odd danios i single out in tanks
