All Aboard Chapolin Airways! A gift for Fred Vegerano
I just can't seem to stop posting right now! But I've been hard at making art despite the recent trials in my life.
I did this one as an impromptu gift for
fredvegerano
He loves the cartoon "Kissyfur"; the bear cub you can see in the bottom right with his puppy love crush Beehonie. However, Kissyfur was one of many shows and characters created by the great French cartoon producer Jean Chapolin, head of DiC Entertainment. These included many of my personal favourite cartoon series growing up, so I decided to add some of the stars of those shows to the mix. Here, my fursona is the captain of a huge and luxurious flying boat (much like those Pan Am operated between the Wars), who's ready to take the excited stars on a wonderful holiday!
On the gangplank are, from left to right;
Oon the Eternal Squire - Jayce & The Wheeled Warriors
Montgomery "Good News" Moose - The Get Along Gang
Estefan - The Mysterious Cities of Gold
Wordsworth - Heathcliff & The Catillac Cats (my personal favourite)
The Cowlorado Kid - The C.O.W.Boys of Moo Mesa
Aramis - Dogtanian & The 3 Muskerhounds
And of course, that's Grumpy Bear from The Care Bears rushing to get aboard in the bottom left. DiC had a hand in creating him and his friends too.

This looks very nicely done.
Though C.O.W. Boys of Moo Mensa wasn't produced by DiC, it was by Kings World and Greengrass Productions, with Gunther-Wahl Productions assisting with Season 1 and Ruby-Spears with Season 2 (they just wound up being owned by DHX Media, the same company that has most or if not all the DiC shows) and Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds was a production of BRB Internacional Inc.
But other then that, this does look great. Fun fact; Jean and I have the same Birthday.

I can't help much about how a flying boat would board passengers as I'm not an expert in that field, though I do know that the main Wikipedia entries for both C.O.W. Boys and Dogtanian were accurate, unless you probably caught them at a time where they may have been temporarily tampered with, or went by with fan made Wiki's, which sometimes need more maintenance to ensure that the information present is correct, much more so then Wikipedia itself sometimes.
