Fake ID name: Eduardo Hierro
Species: natural born mutant canid (German Sheperd) with scientifically induced alterations
Profession: former cop, currently professional assassin/saboteur/mercenary of unknown company
Biography:
James Bryson was born into a modest Californian family. Early reports shows that his parents became “concerned” about their son mental stability from a very young age. Clinical and psychological controls would have no doubt discovered James’s psychopathic nature if not for a unfortunate circumstance: James was in fact a mutant with modest telepathic powers. These powers allowed James to read people minds and influence thoughts; unlike many mutants, which powers usually tend to appear at puberty, James’s powers appeared from birth and may have played a vital role in his psychopathic development.
By perceiving his parent’s thoughts, as well as the various doctors and/or specialists’ thoughts not to mention all the other people, James became immediately aware of the fear and the hate that the word showed to the people perceived as “not normal”. This had the effect to generate a vicious circle which resulted into shaping the young dog’s mind into that of a twisted and hardened psychopath even before reaching adulthood. Although, like all psychopaths, James had no real fear he was aware of the “rules of society” and chose to respect them, but only for avoiding “negative consequences” on his lifestyle.
So he maintained an upper face of conformity and integrity combine with a charming personality, while beneath his manipulative and violent nature continued to grow. Outbursts of this nature occasionally happened, but James was able to avoid further investigations on his sanity, both using his powers and his manipulative nature.
After reaching adulthood James decided to become a cop and moved to New York.
His police career was full of awards for honorable service during duty but in truth this was nothing but a mere facade; James actually used his position to satisfy his violent and psychopathic needs by taking them out over the criminal world in NY, where he started to become feared an hated.
He was known to beat badly criminals, and more sinisterly, to use his powers to amplify their fears; however he was not immune to corruption and pretty soon he started to accept bribes and favors from crime bosses in return for allowing some criminal elements to carry on with their work undisturbed.
For some years James used to patrol the streets with a partner, named Michael Chandler, which he tried to influence and control; however Michael was a honest man, and not liking his partner’s methods, eventually required to be moved into a new district.
Michael was unaware of James’ true nature or his deals with the criminal world, he just considered him a cop with a very tough attitude but he couldn’t avoid noticing some particulars that put him on the guard about James; unknown to both of them this would have lead to a final confrontation in the future.
After Michael’s departure James was paired with a recently hired recruit, a young bear by the name of Arnold Ayers; strong and resourceful but also young and naïve, Arnold was an easy target and pretty soon James had Arnold under his thumb.
Serving as James’ muscle, Arnold contributed in many of James’ illegal activities; the young bear, who should be noted looked at his partner with a sense of admiration and respect, was manipulated by James into extorting money and other felonies by the reassurance that they were just squeezing the criminal world. In addition to that Arnold was in a bad economical situation with a father who had abandoned the family, a mother badly ill and a younger sister who was still under age. In other words, he was basically in desperate need of money and so he silenced his conscience.
After some years, James decided that, in his words, “it was time to stop doing little works and go for the big ones”. The canid had been fascinated by the idea of the “express kidnapping” and he came up with a simple but brilliant idea; the abduction of a close relative of a big crime family’s boss.
As he explained to his partner, as cops expert in the crime world, James and Arnold could easily avoid detection by both the police and the criminal world and James was sure that a crime boss would have never asked for help to the authorities, most especially the police, for finding a relative, thus allowing James and Arnold to work without interference, and was most likely going to pay the ransom, thanks also to the fact that a mob boss was certainly loaded with money.
He also correctly deduced that a crime boss, as well as if the eventually involved police, were most likely to believe that the responsible for the abduction were members of a rival crime group, no certainly cops so the two were going to be completely out of suspicion.
Arnold, for the first time, started to feel some doubts about going on with that plan but James once again was able to coerce the bear into obliging, both through intimidation and awe.
A good opportunity came unexpectedly when a mafia war started for the control of the territory between two major mafia groups. James insisted that, surrounded by enemies, a crime boss would have never guessed who was the real responsible for the abduction of a relative
James and Arnold decided to abduct Rose Coviello , the daughter of Armando Coviello, an extremely powerful criminal who was also the head of one of the two fighting groups.
The twenty year old girl was abducted while she was leaving school by Arnold and James who posed as men working for his father; the unsuspecting girl was quickly bound and gagged and placed into a isolated garage which Arnold had bought under a fake ID.
The plan seemed to work perfectly; as the duo expected Coviello did not inform the police but instead choose to pay the ransom. The money was placed, according to the instructions, in a red plastic bag that was leaven near a trashcan in a remote alley that was included in James and Arnold usual patrolling tour, thus allowing the two to recover it quickly and without anybody noticing.
But the plan had a unexpected and tragic twist; when the two went to free the girl they discovered that she was dead, most likely suffocated by the tight bonding.
Arnold was crushed and guilt-ridden but James acted completely cold; he managed to calm his partner in crime, assuring that he was going to take care of the body and that everything was going to be okay.
Arnold however would not calm down and was starting to panick so James used a different tactic; by manipulating his thoughts and memories James forced Arnold to believe that he was the responsible for the death of the girl since he was the one who tied her up, which wasn’t the truth.
With the seed of guilt and desperation planted in his partner’s spirit, James was sure that Arnold was not going to reveal to anybody the story and the canid was sure that, with a little further “persuasion”, the young bear would have soon choose to end his life, silencing him forever.
But, fortunately for Arnold, an unexpected help for him came by Michael Chandler, James’ previous partner; ever since he had left his district, Michael was troubled by some aspects of James’ personality and so, trusting his instincts, he kept an eye on the events in his old district.
We the news of Rose Coviello reached the newspaper Michael started to do some investigation of his own; after making sure that no one of the Coviello’s rivals were responsible for the abduction of the girl, Michael started to reason that somebody else was responsible for the kidnapping, someone who knew the crime families very well, someone who knew New York’s roads and how to avoid detection by both police and criminal elements,… in other words, a cop would have fitted those elements quite well and Michael had also a hunch about a cop who could actually have done all that.
Michael casually inquired with some friends of the old district about James and Arnold’s activities and he found out more suspicious clues which made him decide to have a chat with Arnold.
Michael found the young bear in a very critical moment; thanks to James’ constant manipulation the bear, filled with despair and guilt, was about to give up and shoot himself.
Michael managed to calm the young bear and stop him from doing the extreme gesture; far from the poisonous influence of James and comforted by Michael, Arnold was able to recover his real memories and understand James’ constant manipulations.
Arnold decided to do what was his duty and made a full confession, which earned him a reduction of his sentence.
James was arrested and sentenced to thirty year in prison; unfortunately James’ managed to hide his powers (which were merely mistakenly assumed for mere manipulative skills).
Cleverly he allowed the authorities to discover his insanity, which in turn granted him some benefits like being transferred into a prison in another state with a change of identity that allowed him to avoid possible persecution by criminal elements that know him but this also helped to the next part of his plan.
Once again, he created a front by feigning collaboration with guards and prison staff, which allowed him after some time to be granted with some extra liberty; immediately he started to manipulate other fellows inmates and eventually he was able to generate a massive prison rebellion during which he planned to escape. When the police break into the prison he took advantage of the chaos and started to run for the exit, killing both cops and inmates which cross his roads.
One of these unfortunate inmate however was able to grab him and wounded him badly on the face with a self made knife; in this state, James collapsed after a few steps and was apparently pick up by the prison staff after the rebellion was sedated.
For an unspecified amount of time James was unconscious but then he awakened in what appeared as the small room of a dingy hotel. Confused, he noticed a black suitcase near the bed which he opened.
Inside the suitcase there were money, a cell phone and a collection of fake documents which featured James’s photo with a new identity, Eduardo Hierro.
Suddenly the phone rang and when James picked up, a cold feminine voice explained what had happened;
officially James Bryson was dead thanks to an overdose of anesthetics during a surgery after the prison rebellion. In reality he had been healed and taken away, in a small and remote city in South America.
The feminine voice informed James that his actions and skills had drawn the attention of some people which believed that James could prove useful for their business and informed him that, if he was willing to comply to some rules, he could be free to do what came natural for him; killing, torturing and bringing chaos without the danger of being arrested or persecuted by authorities. In other word, he was about to become a hitman of some unseen master.
James was also informed that, as a way to ensure his loyalty, he had been implanted with an electrical chip right inside his brain; in order the show the truth of his claims the woman (or whoever wa responsible for that) activated the implant. Quite immediately James started to experience violent pains inside his head; the implant was deactivated and James was informed that the implant, with the right power, could have easily fry his brain, killing him.
However he was assured that, as long as he obeyed some rules, he was safe and free and his new job was certainly going to “meet his approval”.
James was left with an ultimatum of 24 hours to decide; over that time the chip would have been activated.
James remained a bit dubious about the offer however he soon decided to accept; not only it ws his only alternative to live but also the “job” proposed was tempting in his eyes and he knew that he would have been good at it.
So when the same woman called him right before the ending of the 24 hours he accepted.
James or as he is now called Eduardo, from that moment, maintained a low profile expect whenever contacted by the same woman for new orders; nobody, not even him knows who give him orders but it is quite evident that the psycho dog is more than pleased with his new lifestyle. It is apparent that his benefactors have also provided him with some form of military training, as well as some artificial induced mutations that have made the dog a perfect war machine, positively turning a highly dangerous individual into a walking disaster.

Yeah he would and to tell the truth he started out as a sort of action hero, but eventually I came to realize that it was thing already too much used and I came out with this idea of turning him into a psychopathic villain. I think it worked quite well, makes the characther more interesting in his evilness
