AH! THANGORODRIM! I am so happy to see artwork like this, the Silmarillion is a beautiful piece of work. I love how you added the three silmarils to the middle peak. According to the book the triple peaks were raised from all the slag and rubble that Morgoth's slaves had tunneled out from underneath Angband, creating an enormous complex of mining operations, armouries, and cesspools for the breeding of terrible beasts. You gave a hint of the intimidation Beren and Luthien must have felt to enter this fortress.

Glad to see a fan approve of this! The client was the main source of my information here, so everything I got wrong or right is on both of us :D
And I'd definitely love to make more high budget illustrations of anything Tolkien as this was a cheaper commission that didn't get all the time and research that the bigger ones get.

If you do get lucky enough to swipe another commission thats Tokkien related (I have a commission in mind thats unfortunately unrelated :p) feel free to poke me. Im not the most learned Middle Earth scholar out there but I can advise as need be. C:

It looks like it came right off the cover of one of Tolkien's books. Not sure if it was intended that way, but considering this is inspired by the Silmarillion, the top of that stone spire almost seems to foreshadow Sauron and the Third Age.

I was going for that, I wanted it to have a hint of those classic illustrations mixed with my style. I'm glad that it shows :)
