What? You can't make a "bio" about a location? Whatever, I do what I want and I don't have any better title for this. Also, I updated Casey's bio. So yeah.
The paradise woods are, well, pretty self-explanatory. They’re a paradise. The trees produce fruit which is fast-growing, nutritious, easy to digest, and quite tasty. With such a supply of food, predators don’t need to hunt other animals anymore, as simply eating the fruit is easier and more effective, though some predators still hunt for fun, letting the prey go afterwards.
A lack of (lethal) predation may lead to overpopulation in other forests, but the paradise woods is a strange place. All of the native species there rarely reproduce, and if a non-native species feeding on the fruit of the Paradise Woods’ trees (called “Paradise Fruit”) gives birth, the child will lack reproductive organs.
Additionally, most non-native creatures are quickly warded off by the habits of the native creatures, particularly the monsters. These habits are perfectly safe, but it generally freaks someone out if they’re just sitting there, enjoying some fruit, when a giant bog leech sneaks up behind them and eats them, drains them of their energy, then spits them back out. Despite this, some who wander into the Paradise Woods don’t mind, or even enjoy, the habits of the natives.
The native species of the Paradise Woods seem to be drawn to violence. If a creature is harming the woods or its residents, the native animals, monsters, and even plants will be actively drawn to that creature. This means that violent residents of the woods will be constantly pestered by the natives, likely being captured and played with multiple times per day. This often drives violent beings out of the woods by sheer annoyance.
There is one more strange property of the Paradise Woods. It may be something about the fruit, or maybe its some kind of magic tied to the place, but the aging of the residents is often halted for long periods of time, up to 30 years. It seems that whenever a being in the woods, especially one born in the woods, reaches a certain age, their aging is halted.
The woods seem to recognize some kind of “perfect age” for each resident. The perfect age is different for each resident, and it’s not completely understood how the woods knows when to stop their aging, but it seems that the woods stops them at the age which the person would be most happy at.
