SO many hours of trimming...my hand was getting numb from the vibration. I have two (cheap) Whal trimmers and would switch between them so one could cool while the other one was in use.

Taking off the blade and cleaning the crud from under it seemed like it helped, although I wasn't scientific about evaluating that. Holding the fur semi-vertical and trimming downwards so the trimmed fur fell away in sheets seemed to be helpful.
