This here is Maxine Turnbull, aka Sprocket, aka Gamble. It's... a long story.
Essentially she's a superhero-in-training, with the ability to put together... things... out of other things.
Basically she's a gadgeteer with no understanding of how and why things will. She's just instinctively capable of building things out of the random junk she finds. They're often crude items, likely to break or fall apart at any moment. But generally speaking? They work.
And yes part of her arm IS made out of a basketball.
