This is the cover I made for a book that I never got around to writing. I still remember having it all planned out. I came up with stories all the time as a kit, and I used to draw them as comic strips. Most of them were very bad. I also used to keep hamsters as pets, owning several throughout my childhood. So it seemed natural to combine the two together. I had this idea where a set of wild hamsters met up with a group of pet hamsters, in a sort of country mouse, city mouse style. This was before the Hamtaro anime came out, so that was not part of my inspiration. The cover shows the underground tunnels that the wild hamsters would dig, leading into the plastic tubes the pet hamsters would crawl through. The idea was the image would wrap around the spine from the front cover to the back. I still think it's rather creative, considering how old I was when I came up with it. To this day, I still think the word Hamster should have a 'p' in it.
