ISIS DFC's first production infantry fighting vehicle, the ISIS CAZ-12.
It is a large and hardy vehicle. The '12' is derivative of the 12 man carriage space, capable of holding 9 soldiers and their 90lbs of gear as well as the three man crew. It has also been argued to refer to the vehicle's 12 cylinder engine, though official statement agrees with the prior. It weighs a 21 tons, is roughly 6.5 meters long, and stands near 2.3 meters in height. With its tanks full, it can travel a distance of 860km, at a maximum speed of 130km/h.
Its armament consists of a rifled 105mm cannon, unusual in that the barrel contains no baffle prior to the muzzle brake. It also has space for a coaxial machine gun, with internal spacers indicating how to fit the more common caliber weapons. Standard package comes with a 7.62x51mm weapon. It also has a fairly unusual 40mm smoke grenade launching package, which shoots from the sides of the vehicles instead of at an arc from the turret. The grenades will form the corners of a square around the vehicle, concealing it in most directional winds.
It uses an in-house developed fire control system with multiple target capability through use of a Commander Independent Viewing System, which itself contains both a night sight and thermal imaging capabilities as well as being able to turn independently of the turret.
The armor is composite in nature, comprised of layered silicon carbide ceramic tiling, meshed metal spacers, a thin layer of tungsten alloy and another of tempered steel above such. Much of the interior is padded to protect soldiers should the armor fail, with an emergency release on the rear door for a quick exit.
The tires are each attached to an air compressor, and are self-inflating should a puncture be caused... though this is unlikely, due to their thick rubber layer and metal bandings interwoven throughout.
All names and information are trademark of ISIS DFC, ISIS Metalworks, ISIS Global, and their subsidiaries.
