Another sketch of these two showing a bit on how they are with each other. I would probably think Richie is telling Mac on something he'd like him to do knowing how willing Mac is to please him.

And before you say Mac is an idiot for not knowing what Richie is doing, he does know. In fact, he's fully aware of how Richie treats him but doesn't do much cause he hasn't the time for it nor the emotional capacity for it. He cares too much for Richie to really tell him off.

In a way, he's kind of blinded by his loyalty and love for him and Richie uses that constantly to get what he wants. That's not to say that Richie doesn't care for Mac as he does, but he lets his confidence and ego get the better of him at times.
