At 11:45am HST, Hawaii will become the first state in at least 30 years to test the "Attack Warning Siren" (an occilating wailing tone simillar to a police/fire/ambulance siren for you millenials). The last time I heard this sort of thing (as far as I can remember) was before my teens, and I thought I'd never have to hear it again.

Here in town, we got the new fangled digital loudspeaker sirens, and I think they goofed on the tone pattern. XD It sounded nothing like the old slow ramp up, ramp down sine-wave tone made by the old electric motor driven sirens, but I'm sure C.D. aka FEMA-HEMA will get it sorted.
